About Rydges Melbourne

A central location and a restful night's sleep is a guarantee at the Rydges Melbourne. A 30-minute drive from the airport, the hotel is situated opposite Her Majesty’s Theater. Within walking distance is Chinatown and the boutiques of Collins Street. The nearest tram stop is just 50 meters from the hotel, while the nearest train station is a block away. The hotel now features new dream beds designed by one of Australia's oldest manufacturers. This property includes an Italian steakhouse restaurant called Locanda Restaurant, and if that is not enough, the surrounding area is surrounded by more restaurants for you to experience. Guests at the hotel also enjoy complimentary access to Fitness First at QV, a simple 5-minute walk away.

Excellent stay!
Stayed at Rydges for my birthday weekend, hotel staff was very friendly, I received a bottle of sparkling and a card in my room from the reception staff! Buffet breakfast was delicious! Overall great room and value for money!

Was concerned to find a ceiling down light hanging out of its socket and water pooling in the bottom of the fridge.

Pleasant and acceptable
Upgraded to King Deluxe, lovely small room. Great city views. Fantastic buffett breakfast! Friendly, helpful staff. Appropriate for our mini get-away.

Rooms need updating not four star standard
Location. Close to transport. Close to restaurants.
Size of room was great. Bathroom needs maintenance. Had a "queen" bed but was two beds pushed together. Didn't mind as I was by myself but both mattresses needed replacing. It sunk in the middle and I'm only 45 kilos! Also, housekeeping poor - bed wasn't even made up just sheets tucked in. Pillows and cushions still on chair. They also had an incentive where if you elected not to get your room made you received a $10 voucher toward food. But you got this when you checked out. I tried it one night and got a card I had to give at check out. When I handed it to reception at check out, she put it to the side and that was it. I wouldn't have been able to use it anyway but she didn't even mention my options etc. So glad I didn't pay full price. Disappointing. Three and a half stars more like it.
