Terrible! If there is "0" grade, I must click it!
Everything is terrible! The experience at this hostel was terrible. I wasnt expecting a five star hotel services; however, I had expected it, at least, supposed to be an operational hostel. People could hardly imagine when a person arrived in front of the hostel, no one even at there, and no light's even on. At around 21:00, all the light's already off, excepted the light of emergency. I walked around and looked for the operators all over the entire one responded and showed up! It's just like a haunting house! Waited there over 30 mins during winter time and snowing evening... I needed to walk to the other hotel at snowing and freezing condition, and asked for help. Fortunately, the nice hotel guy helped me to call the Ryokan get someone back to the hostel....! Long story short.....It's terrible experience....!

It's awesome place

Food r really good, hotel owner is really nice and sweet, spa place r really good for relax
When the day we earlier arrive there, it was rain, we r really tired, but boss that us check in directly, give us some snack and hot water first, it was sooooo nice and sweet, and that Japanese style room is so warm and nice, and they have Japanese traditional clothes for us!!😁 we sleep for a while than change Japanese traditional clothes to have spa. And next morning it surprise us, it was the best Japanese stly breakfast we've never have before!!! And ofcourse i have to say, there's traffic r really convenient, easy get to everywhere we want to see, lovely and wish i can stay there again!

Not very good, but good breakfast.

Breakfast, onsen
This ryokan is old and not very clean. It is far from Gora, about a 20 minute bus ride. It is not among the really nice places I have stayed for the money, and I probably wouldn't stay there again.

A nice local atmospfere

Japanese style rooms and close to busstops
We enjoyed our stay in the Ryokan. The owner was very friendly. We understood eachother well, although he didn't speak English and we didn't speak Japanese. There was hot water in our room to make tea. The room was big and clean, the Japanese style beds were comfortable. There were no towels, although there was a small towel present in the bathroom. There was yukata in the room available. The Japanese style bathroom was clean. I think you could even lock the door. There was only one shower in the bathroom, so if it's busy you might have to wait a bit. The Ryokan is close to some restaurants and busstops. As it's not situated on the main road, it's best to print a map (from google maps or so), so you can find your way to the Ryokan.

Lovely traditional Japanese Ryokanwoth bonus Onsen

Onsen, Welcoming Hosts, traditional Japanese breakfast- so interesting!
We felt so welcome- my fiancé and I had a traditional Japanese room. Our hosts were so welcoming- the onsen is so relaxing- we used it every day. It's so close to the bus, a mini supermarket, and some really nice local restaurants. Feel it was great value for money and a unique japanese experience!

Great Ryokan experience on the cheap

Staff, comfort, and cosiness
If you want to experience staying at a Ryokan but do not want to pay an arm and a leg, then this is the place to go to! The rooms were lovely, the onsen great, and the owner a warm and accommodating chap. It is a bit far from most attractions, but in Hakone, any accommodation close to attractions will cost you a lot. Yes, like many others have said, the owner can't speak english at all. I know basic japanese so it wasn't a problem, but even if you know no japanese, rest assured the owner will try his best to help and understand you. You'll get to practice some sign languages ;)
