Brilliant location right at the end of Wonduan beach.
Our third trip to Samet Cabana Resort. Everytime fantastic. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms, small but well appointed. Restaurant has a good menu with good cooks preparing the food. Beach area is kept nice and clean and there are plenty of sun beds. My only criticism would be that in the 6 years we have gone there, not a lot of renovation has taken place. Would benefit from a bit of maintenance. Will surely go again.

Disappointed!
We have been to Samet island many times. Overall this resort was the worst, least impressed although the location was actually good. Thing that trouble us a lot was that we have booked the beach-front room which was supposed to be the best room in the resort. However, the one we got was actually the beach front room but at least 60% of the view in front of our room was block by a big tree. I called their resort office in Bangkok to complaint. They said they will do something about it but they never called back. For us, this was a bit of rip off. Cleaning service was also not good enough in my view. Overall, we are disappointed and would not come back to this resort again.

Don't stay here
I have to see this place is definitely not worth the money. The sea view can only be described that way because you can see the sea.... Just, the rooms are now run down and no care is taken of the outside of the facilities. I have to say I've stayed many much better places all over Thailand for a lot less money and of a much higher standard.

Could be so much better but...
The location if you have a beachfront bungalow is great. However wedged out back you will be surrounded by garbage worse an open waste water pond which amazingly overflows in heavy rain under two rows of bungalow towards the sea. A storm and it is very messy. This pond is three metres from the pool on one side and the third row of bungalows on the other. Even has a pipe under both rows to the beach. The staff have the view the resort is a job for them firstly. We asked for a second chair on balcony [as it had been taken by another cabin], and was told this was "difficult". Ordered spring rolls [these were substituted without question] for onion rings as the spring rolls "smelt bad"!! Mixed feelings about this kind of honesty. Anyhow my complaints could be easily fixed but i doubt they ever will.

Run down
This hotel is very poor quality At reception the girl was extremely difficult as we had asked for a beach front villa which had been over booked on the Saturday night However they remained empty the fest of our stay The amount of flies was amazing so much that we had to place jam on another plate at the table just to eat in peace The rooms are full of bugs due to a stagnant pond and rubbish tip in the grounds of the resort I was happy to leave
