Within walking distance to subway. Centrally located. Nicely renovated. atmosphere of the oriental culture. Small but clean room.

Pleasant stay with comfortable and affordable room
Clean, comfortable and convenient to MRT
We enjoyed our stay here. Chinatown is busy and noisy but our room was quiet, cool, and comfortable.

Good location in midst of Chinatow, and good food
nearby food, chinese-decor and clean
overall enjoyable stay and nice clean hotel, except the best part of it (location and close to good food) is also the worst part of it (noisy environment and can be heard from room even past midnight).

Small rooms and hotel is very dark.
Location, food, internet
Ancient chinese design in red, a bit romantic but very dark through out the day. High speed internet, but the breakfast service is not very convenient. They kept asking me for breakfast ticket everyday. Can't they just remember my face?

room is very small. no escalator at night
design, location, food
Nice romantic ancient chinese design, located at chinatown where you can find great food and traditional chinese herb and nutrition supplement. Room is super small and you can hear your next door spoke on the phone.

Boutique experience in old chinese opera house
Everything is red, great location, good customer service
The idea of a re-purposed chinese opera house with red decor really enticed us. It was quite an exotic looking hotel in a great location. The sensor-start escalators were a bonus. The breakfast was good and the staff very friendly and attentive. The scholar room we had was very small and had no window. The bed was built into an alcove and rubbed and squeaked at any small movement made on the bed. It was quite a noisy hotel - we could hear guests passing by our room and others on other floors being amorous :o) It was a good experience - would look other quieter (windowed) room options if we ever stayed there again.

Interior is awesome, clean and great location
Concept and location in the heart of Chinatown
My stay was good. The room was okay but a bit small. The bathroom is not as small as claimed but the location of the shower could be better as it was stuck between a wall and the sink barely 2 feet wide. Although we hardly watched any programs on the TV, the wall mounted LCD could also be in a better location. Suitable for a night or two. If you're a light traveler this is good. The staff serving during breakfast was very friendly. Overall the hotel is good. Might return again.

As expected. Comfortable and very convenient.
Design, location, friendly staff.
As expected. The overall design of the hotel was unique. Very nice. The breakfast buffet was passable. The staff was friendly and very accommodating of our needs. The location for us was very convenient. Perfectly situated in the heart of Chinatown. Lots of restaurants and convenient stores near.

unnecessary change in rooms
nice Chinese opera theme, close to the action in Chinatown, decent facilities
I paid for a deluxe room with a King bed, but the hotel staff told me on checking in that they do not have deluxe rooms available as they needed to upgrade the airconditioning for the first two nights I stayed. They checked me into a family room, which had a single bed and queen bed. No Windows! The design of the room was also impractical. There was an overemphasis on aesthetics such that it felt claustrophobic. When I finally got checked into a deluxe room, it was so much better. There were windows and spaces without too many pillars and walls. Deluxe rooms are definitely better value for money here. Breakfast is however, atrocious. You can walk a few steps to chinatown market and eat good local fare instead of having to put up with the rubbish they call breakfast.
