It cannot be smaller
location, china town
If you need litteraly bed and breakfast this hotel is exacly what you need. Tiny rooms and tiny bathroom so you can seat on a toilet while taking a shower and use a hair dryer. But it have a good location. In a center of China town. So you can easily buy something chinese such as tea. Underground station is hearby. But you should take a walk cause Singapore is beautiful. By my side it is expensive for such a small room. But it's a Singapore, not a cheapest city in the world. Oh, and be prepare for chinese karaoke on the other side of street. If you want to have a deep relax you'd better not take a street view room.

Great Location but extremely small room
Near shopping area, easy access to MRT, central location
Room was exceptionally small despite being a superior double room. Rather noisy at night as well. Manager was nice and kind enough to upgrade to deluxe.

good value
old hotel with friendly hotel staff, especially the reception and the breakfast crews.
The hotel address should be Temple St, because the taxi driver was having a hard time to find Trenganu St which was blocked off at night time by the market stalls. The breakfast was simple but nice because the staff are very friendly. There are a lot of Chinese restaurants nearby, must say it's unusual in SIN to see ladies at the front trying to sweet talk the customers to come inside.

Good location, near good eating places.
In Chinatown, near to Bugis, affordable prices
The staff is friendly and respond to our requests promptly. However, I think the standard single room is quite small for one person. The buffet breakfast is ok.

Feel Stress
The design at lobby
My room door with the access card was automatically blocked each time i returned from outside. When i approached the front desk and the staffs merely said the technician will attend to me but waited for very long time which non of the technician had turned up. Eventually, thanks to one of the cleaner lady which assisted me in opening the door with her master access card. Besides, i have waited about 2 hours for the check in even though it was after 2pm which the hotel supposed to get the room available for me. The standard room is so packed and small, even smaller than my home bath room.

Clean room but very small...
Affordable, right in the middle of Chinatown where dining options are aplenty and close proximity to MRT station

Good location, Super Loud
Location, breakfast included
Good location for this hotel, right in Chinatown, close to MRT. Singapore tends to be a very expensive city, so looking for a budget hotel is tough. This place was still pricey but low compared to other hotels in the area. It was cool to have a hotel that was previously a chinese opera, and they have tried to maintain much of that decor. Hotel definitely needs some updates though - paint and carpets are in need of changing, etc. That's generally isn't a big problem for me, however the bigger issue was the noise. Location, as I said, was great! RIght in Chinatown and close to the night market, but with that comes noise. Initially we were in a room that was above a store that was literally blasting electronic music all day long. I asked the front desk about it, and they said the shops usually close at 11 and the music would stop then, but my husband and I really needed rest during the day so we asked to change rooms. The staff was great and quickly gave us a new room on a different part of the second floor. It was not as loud as the first, but still loud nonetheless. We stayed in this room though, and made the best of the scenario since it was just one night. I would recommend this hotel for someone looking in the budget of $100 or less for two people, and looking for something that isn't a hostel. But definitely beware of the noise.

Comfortable & Clean Hote, extremely small bathroom
Breakfas provided , staffs are friendly especially in Bar 25 and Grand Lobby
I love the grand lobby the most. It's quite quiet and the internet connection is quite stable, did not disconnected for no reason compare with the one in my hotel room. At the point of booking, they have the promo where free breakfast is included. Although not many choices to choose from, overall I enjoy the moment eating my breakfast because the staffs were especially attention.
