About Savoy Hotel

Description

This place oozes colonial history and the rooms are impeccable with polished teak floors and crispy cotton sheets. Savoy Hotel is just a 10-minute walk to Schwedagon Pagoda. Other attractions are all a short taxi ride down the street. Rooms by the pool can be quieter than those facing the road which does have some traffic. There is a lovely reading room on-site where one can enjoy a drink or simply read the paper. This boutique hotel is one of the top places to stay in Yangon. One of the more memorable details that leaves a lasting impression on guests is the collection of antiques and art that's spread around the hotel.

Gorgeous hotel
The place is beautiful and they upgraded us to a sweet because the room we booked only had twin beds. However we went for dinner in the French cafe and were very disappointed. We had to send one of the burgers back and even the one we eventually got was not great, edible but that's not a great endorsement when you're paying 17$ for it. The restaurant isn't even listed on trip advisor.

Good Colonial style hotel with good location
Good colonial style hotel where the rooms and bathrooms could definitely do with an upgrade especially in the shower area and the air conditioning and lighting system in the room. Good staff and good food although not having a single vegetarian option in the menu was a bit disappointing.

Nice hotel but...
The hotel is really charming , the staff is well trained and polite. The head chef is really good and came to say hello at our table. The towels were a bit too old and rough. When I said so to the GM, and came back to the hotel few hours later, he did not take action to change them. In that kind of hotel, I was expecting a GM wearing a suit, not a pair of jeans. However, I do recommend this hotel.

Colonial Style Hotel
We really liked the colonial feel of this hotel, on our second stay we didn't have any hot water but this was probably to do with the renovations they were doing at the time. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Yangon.

Best Boutique hotel in Yangon
Yangon is an up and coming place with not many 5 star properties as of this date. The Savoy is one of them. I stayed in several less comfortable places until I found the Savoy.

Excellent experience
The staff are all friendly and attentive from the door attendant (getting cabs and negotiating fee) to the Manager (checking in with us at breakfast).

It is a very wonderful hotel in Yangon. Classical furniture, the room using a lot of teaks, friendly staffs, delicious food entranced us.It is not a pity that the room service menu was not updated.
