Be aware if you choose it in winter!

It is near subway so you can walk to Jonggak station within ten minutes, Gwanghwamun in ten minutes, Myeongdong, Gyeongbok or Insadong in twenty minutes. There are restaurants and bars nearby the hostel so the location is not bad. But the environment is poor. First, the service girls, who are part-time students, work on shifts. Most of them suck in English so it is difficult to communicate although they are very willing for any help. Second, the room that only has a bed and a small cabinet is indeed too small. Once you lay down your luggage, you even have no space for standing. Pillow and thin quilt seems not quite neat. Fortunately, the room is warm. However, it is cold outside. The public restroom has no thermostatic equipments. The window is even opening. I headed to there in December so the outdoor temperature is a few degrees below zero. You can imagine that it is courageous if you go to toilet and take a shower. The bathroom seems dilapidated. You will not feel good if you mind hygiene. The biggest problem is the water supply system. When more than one person uses water at the same time, the amount of water would be reduced and the water temperature would be dropped down, even to cold water so you have to choose a bath time without people and also first check the water supply before undress; otherwise you will have a memorable and hard bathing experience. Everytime while I was picking my clothes and holding toiletries to walk upstairs to take a bath, I was tired and afraid. It should be more difficult for girls to make-up. When you sleep, you would hear many voices all around. There are voices of talking phone in other rooms, voices of walking on the corridor, voices of people chatting at public space, voices of accessing in and out the lift. Overall, this place is a bit like a cell in jail. It is known that inexpensive hostel would not provide enjoyment, but you have to be careful to buy uncomfortable in winter. Good luck!

Location is Great, but no wifi...

location, location, location
I was pleasantly surprised to find it so easily just using the agoda map and pictures. The hostel is in a building where you have to climb the first floor stairs to the second floor to get to the elevator. Office is on the 6th. The staff charges 10K won for key deposit, so be sure to have cash on you. You get it back when you turn it in. The room was small and had a single lumpy bed and small drawer and hanger. Ladies bathroom was one floor down. I could never get a wifi signal, at all. Window didnt have a curtain or shade. I have stayed at other hostels with better facilities within the same price range. Best thing was the clean sheets and cover. Oh, yeah...no heat. I slept in my clothes, sweater, gloves, scarf and knit hat. Brrrrrr. Will not return.

Suitable for backpacker traveller

Budget, Great Location, Basic Amenities
The hostel is located on 6th floor, suitable if you really need the place just for sleeping, if compared with dormitary concept room offered by other hostel, this hostel provides bunk bed private room, which very much suitable for small body, figure as the room is limited in space. They offer free rice but no towel provided.Make sure to bring your own towel. The location however is great, just 5 minutes walking distance to jonggak subway,15 minutes to chandeokgung and very much nearby to other palaces as well.Book this place, only if you are on budget and not fussy
