Middle of the nanjin road

Room size, walking distance to train station and many malls around
Overall it was ok. No complaint besides the sink. The water was choked in the sink for a while.. location is ok, nearly 10min walk from peoplea square. not only in this hotel, but shanghai is very domestic city and 99% people can not speak english. Hotel does not even have english map.. if you lost the way, it is very very hard to find people who can guide you in english. Be aware of that..

Convenient Location, Great Value for Money

Location, Views, Cleanliness
We enjoyed our stay at Seventh Heaven Hotel. We feel this hotel is great value for money and the location was extremely convenient for shopping and walking to local sights like the museum and The Bund. Our room had nice views over the people's walking street. We found our room to be clean & equipped with all the essentials for a short stay. Shower had good water flow and was nice & hot, air-conditioning worked great and was easily set at preferred temperature, beds were firm but not uncomfortable and hot & cold drinking water was provided. The hot water was just about hot enough for coffee, but coffee was not provided A Chinese breakfast was included, which may not suit everyone, but I didn't mind at all. Selection included boiled eggs, toast, noodles, dumplings, buns, corn on the cob and a green type steamed vegetable (bok choy ?), tea & coffee as well as a rice type soup dish that I didn't try. Reception desk staff spoke basic levels of English and were happy to organise the taxi to take us to the airport at the end of our stay. They also provided us with a power adaptor when we found ours didn't suit. Room service staff did not speak English at all. Minor negatives that we were happy to accept given this is a 3 star hotel and not a 5 star luxury hotel included we did request a queen bed and were given two twin beds, we requested room on higher floor but were given room on level 9, there was some noise on the first night as there were festivities occurring in the street associated with public holidays. We were told checkout was 12 noon and we packed up our bags & left them in the room after breakfast for some last minute shopping. When we returned at 11.15 am we found the cleaning staff in our room stripping the beds and getting ready for the next guests.

Best Location, but other things are just ok

Location, nice view
Overall it's ok. The location is superb. The staff is not helping much, and not showing the service mind. The view from the room (family room) is nice, but the window is dirty. The bedroom is fine and spacious. The bathroom is average. Breakfast is terrible just exactly the same as others' review. I would recommend to stay here if you don't mind about breakfast and the staff because its location is the best.

location location location

1. location 2. cleanliness 3. location
i am very satisfied with our stay at the seventh heaven hotel. all the reviews i have read are true. the location is the best. line 2 and line 10 are 5 minutes walk away from the hotel entrance. you are smack right in the middle of nanjing east road where all the happenings are going on. this is where the tourists go. in between howard johnson hotel and sofitel. so many food choices around. from expensive restaurants, to the not so expensive food chains and the delicious stalls where the locals fall in line for their daily sustenance. i fell in love with the place. except for the buffet breakfast. there is no variety - same food choices everyday. coffee, tea, orange juice and milk. hard boiled eggs. dumplings. smoked sausages. greens. noodles. congee. loaf bread which you can toast, margarine and strawberry jam. but this is a minor issue, since as mentioned above - you can go out and get breakfast nearby. overall, i made the right decision in staying here. i will stay again next time i visit shanghai. best part of it all is for first timers, the city sightseeing bus stops right in front of the hotel. you can pay the man outside, he will give you tickets for the hop on hop off bus. the best way to see shanghai.
