Lovely hotel and service with a smile

Krungthep Wing benefits - A worthwhile upgrade
8
though the krungthep wing is separate from the main hotel and larger pool and restaurants, the benefits of nicer rooms (krungthep with balcony), better amenities, personalised service, included breakfast, afternoon tea (sandwiches, cakes, tea, coffee), and evening happy hour (530-730) with unlimited cocktails and freshly cooked snacks (appetisers), makes it a great deal. the location of the krunpthep wing is also closer to the river taxi boat dock and sky train.
Nightlife Tip: Besides the hotels excellent breakfast and pool (service was great), I suggest you visit the Sky Bar for sunset or anytime in the evening (Lebua at State Tower, 66th floor rooftop) which is a short walk away. We took a Tuk Tuk (100 baht, which is double the fare a local would pay, but worthwhile if you have never taken a ride).

Best hotel in four week trip to southeast asia.Thoughtful service.Staff would not only tell you where things were but would lead you in the right direction until they were confident you could find. Fruit in your room each morning, prompt room service. lovely pool. rooms facing river with great views.Staff would consistantly ask if they could help with anything if you stood in lobby. Helpful with taxi and tuk tuk drivers.
Restaurant Tip: Food court used by locals on way to skytrain or dock was wonderful and incredibly inexpensive.

Good hotel with a great view

The view on the river, the garden next to the river to have a drink. Good location

We liked the hotel but were greatly dissapointed by the Thai restaurant: expensive, ordinary food and amateuristic servive

Stayed at the Shangri-La for 5 days. This hotel is very clean and is located with in walking distance of a shopping mall and places to eat. The bed was nice and big and very comfy.

Nothing new, besides a feeling of being home

Location, service, staff education and dedication

The Hotel is an icon of Bangkok hotel industry. You can choose between two aisles of the Hotel, one with more service and the other one, as good but less service oriented.. All rooms are nice, the food is quite spectacular and the views will remain in your mind..
Nightlife Tip: Close by you have a nice small restaurant call the queen of curry, and after a 5 minutes walk, go to the roof top of the Lebua Hotel for a drink

Great hotel on the river in Bangkok

Reliable wifi, fantastic pool area, great breakfast

Always love to stay at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok. The buffet breakfast is one of the best in Asia, in my opinion. The hotel is a short walk to the sky train, which is helpful during the day when that mode of transport can be far quicker than a taxi. The wifi is reliable and they take special care in terms of servicing rooms and making sure you enjoy your stay. Worth the extra dollars to stay at this premier hotel.

We did upgrade to Horizon Club upon arrival and that was a good choice. The breakfast at 24th floor was superb and housemaid extremly diligent. All in the staff where welcoming and helpfull. Best hotell stay so far in 53 years

Great place to stay in Bangkok

views, rooms, location

great rooms on krungthiep wing; river view from the balcony; complimentary extra are great value - afternoon tea, cocktail hour;location very convinient next to BTS and ferry. breakfast in the other wing is better. Spa was a letdown, very expensive and below average treatments, best to avoid. we had a few minor issues but in general hotel is highly recommended, I would stay there again.

Very nice hotel with Excellent pool

Location by the river and pool area

stayed at the krung thep wing which was good. hotel is showing some age, but still good in my opinion. if staying at the krung thep wing, make sure to request room away from the bridge as it is very noisy. afternoon tea was ok-ish, but evening cocktails were good with some very good snacks available almost like a dinner itself. always went to main wing for breakfast as there was more variety there. i guess the pool area with the river views is among the best in bkk.
