The location, facilities and nice house keeping

I stayed at the Horizon Club this time due to that fact that all other rooms were booked. While the room I got at the Horizon Club was fine, I found the deluxe with balcony better although it is actually cheaper. The ventilation in the room was either too humid or too cold. I also found that the reception staff at the 24th floor (apart from one) and the staff in the break-fast area polite, but not very friendly or particularly attentive, in comparison to the staff on the ground-floor who always have been very welcoming and nice. It should be said that the hotel was pretty full and that in general impacted teh service standard as compared to other times I have stayed in the hotel.

I only stayed one night in the Shangri-La but would definitely go back for a longer stay if the occasion permits. True international standard 5-star hotel (not always the case in Bangkok) with a great location, pool area and breakfast buffet.
