Shinjuku on the cheap

The three best things were the location, the price, and the onsen
This place is great if you are looking for a capsule hotel that has all the amenities and is in a decent location. For travellers using the JR pass exclusively it can be a bit difficult to find and is about a 15 minute walk from the main Shinjuku station. They offer free toothbrushes and razors of you forgot yours. The lounge are is nice where you can grab a beer or a small meal and meet with fellow travellers. The lack of daytime storage lockers even if you are staying multiple nights is the only downside I experienced.

Interesting stay

Nice big public bath and clean areas.
Pretty comfy and everything needed for the night was provided including pjs, except locker system was slightly convoluted (by my biased western standards) and not suitable for people with more than hand carry luggage.

be careful if you check in late

The bathrooms
The toilets, bathrooms and beds were clean. However as the hotel reception is located in 3rd floor which is a little difficult to find the place. So if you check-in in the middle of the night, the streets there are a little bit dangerous as there are many pubs around. Be careful if you are traveling alone.

A capsule in the red light district

Location, price, staff
We have no complaints at all since we get what we paid for. Capsule hotel is not really meant for long staying guests or tourists since its daily check-in and check-out policy is such a hassle. And for those who are squeamish about taking a bath in a sauna nude together with other strangers, do not take a capsule hotel here in Tokyo or anywhere else in Japan since they do not have a private shower room. The hotel's main draw is its location since it's right in the heart of Shinjuku area where access to transportation, food and shopping is very convenient. Although it's in the red light district, its location is on the quieter end of the street, in front of Shinjuku Ward Office.
