Boutique hotel in Silom

Had a few minor issues. We were on second floor and no lift. Had to manage 3 heavy cases down a spiral staircase. No bellboy available. Also had to arrange own transportation from hotel. Wifi in the room was appalling. Had to go to the lobby where the wifi was good. No breakfast but could purchase voucher at 150 baht for American breakfast which was adequate for the price paid. 15 minute walk to Patpong night market but had to cross 3 very busy roads in the dark. Not recommended better to pay for taxi both ways.

Best location, charming and cozy

Loved the deluxe room as it is tugged away from the noisy Silom road. The hotel is located in the best location. I'm from BKK originally and location is the key. The hotel manager and staff are super friendly and helpful. We visit Thailand every two years and we only chose to stay here whil in BKK.

Silom Village Inn
location, not too many guests, price
The reason I'm a little leery of staying at Silom Village Inn any more is this. I've now booked in using Agoda three time in a row, over just over a year and a half's time. Each time I've booked there,using Agoda each time, I've been given the very same room number? This can't be coincidence? The room is sized nicely, but is getting shabby and somewhat worn. It's also on the second story, at the back of the hotel, ( which is one from street noise standpoint ), but hell to lug a lotta bags or stellar. And, with the bombing, financial crisis, and the military coup and unrest situation business in Bangkok is WAY down now, from the past. I spoke with several merchants, and they themselves confirmed to me the tourist numbers have drastically dropped, at least in the Silom area. I stayed a few days and was able to to notice that almost none of the rooms across the way in the newer section, and a few doors back from the street were definitely NOT occupied by guests there, at the same time I was checked in. I'm beginning to wonder if they have standing instructions to assign the back rooms that are more worn, and not remodeled to guests booking thru Agoda? Next time I book I think I'll try booking thru my airline, and see what room I get??
