Wonderful place !
It has a lot of charm and it is a unique place
Our stay was wonderful excellent service and romantic dinner. Unfortunately we were in the clouds, mist and rain the whole time.

Peace, colonial bungalow, high up in the mountains
The stunning views over tea plantations, rice paddies and of the Knuckles Ranges; the forest and wildlife; the beautiful old house
Superb. So quiet after the bustle and noise of Kandy. A special place, worthy of its conservation status. Exploring the hills around and seeing the remains of coffee, pine, cardamom and tea plantations was fascinating, as was the village walk across rise paddies and past huts with carefully kept yards and vegetable gardens. You can come here and do nothing, or do lots. Beautiful food, wonderful service, great books on the fauna and flora, and the staff know how to take care of their guests. A very special place indeed.

Mountain retreat, trekking, nature
Location, history, service
The location of this hotel is amazing. However, I was disappointed by the interiors. It is described as luxurious but it isn't. I thought the interiors were spartan (could use some art on the walls, etc) and more furnishings. Overall, I thought the hotel delivered just below what it promised. I understand that it is situated in a nature resort but that is not an excuse for not treating the guests to a better ambience. The staff were great - efficent and helpful.

The stay was disrupted by other guests playing mu
the stafff, the food and the manager were excellent
We cut our stay short and demanded to leave as three other families took over the guest house and played guitars and sang until 2.00 am making the stay not very enjoyable and impossible to enjoy and stay any longer with the manager agreeing, to his credit he did sort a refund and booked another hotel for us

remote mountain lodge
the location of this colonial era bungalow is superb. the views are incredible. the food is delicious.
you come here if you want to walk in the knuckles mountains which rise up out of paddy fields and small villages. you passrushing rivers, majestic trees, windswept mountain tops with flowering bushes. the walks are strenuous but perfectly manageable for an urbanite. the bungalow is run like a colonial country house. it is not high luxury but it is comfortable enough and the food is delicious. tell them in advance if you want sri lankan or western food. the staff are very helpful and friendly.
