Pousada Do Amparo Hotel Olinda Info
The Pousada Do Amparo Hotel is a delightful property in a great spot favored by local artists. At the Rua do Amparo travelers will find all kinds artists’ galleries and museums, plus there are enough restaurants to keep curious foodies entertained for a long while. A buffet breakfast is served every day and can be taken on the outside veranda with great views of the countryside. Evening meals can also be eaten at the hotel and this is certainly the type of place that would suit couples looking for a romantic break out in the sticks.

Friendly staff, cozy rustique atmosphere, far from the standard hotel design, unique room, good location, beautiful garden, nice breakfast buffet A bit noisy in the evening because of very busy music bar on the opposite side of the street, bath room could be improved technically a bit. After having experienced extremely overpriced pousadas in Porto de Galinhas and on Fernando de Noronha, we were very pleasantly surprised when we got to Olinda and checked in at the Pousada do Amparo. Immediately in the lobby it is clear that this is a quite unusual hotel, with a very cozy atmosphere. It is clear that the owners have tried to give it a unique character and it really stands out (in a positive way) from the standard 'templated' hotels that are just too common around the world. The room was very original, with a steep staircase from the door and bathroom (this was just in front of the door) to the actual bedroom part. A bit tough to bring up / down the suitcases, but apart from that it gave a very special touch to the room. Also the furnishing was tasteful yet personal and from the bedroom part there were balconies in two directions. One of them was not for going out on and it just faced the interior of the hotel (but as this was so nicely done, also this was a nice view), the other had a small area where one could in principle have a seat, and it had a nice view over Recife. In the evening it became clear that the hotel location is excellent for enjoying Olinda's night life, as the bar just opposite of the hotel was very busy with great music until around midnight. On the other hand, it did put some constraints on the sleeping times!
