apa hotel is a goog hotel with walking distance from coppacabana beach. it also near shopping areas.
the breakfast was great. the wifi was intermittently disconnected. the reception staff were friendly. the rooms were clean but small.

Rocking the 70's
Friendly and efficient service with a great breakfast

The hotel must have been built around the 70's. The decor is from that time period and hasn't been updated which could put a few people off. But if you are going to Rio then all you really need is a place to sleep and refresh and the Apa hotel is fine for just that. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is simple but really good.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Copacabana beach is just a few blocks down the road from the hotel. The beach is awesome with lots going on. But if you stroll down the beach heading south, the view of the bay gets better with Sugar Loaf as a great backdrop. If you keep heading south you will walk through 1 block in town to get to Ipanema beach. This beach, in my opinion, is better than Copacabana beach. The one tip though is that there are more options for food along the Copacaban beach and hardly anything at Ipanema.

affordable, good breakfast

Hotel is close to copacobana beach, has a good buffet breakfast. Rooms are not particularly nice but are satisfactory. Free wifi, passable but not great English on the front desk.
