Decent, well located option in Lapa

Hotel Granada was a good budget option for Carnival week in Rio. The facilities outside of the actual room are non existent (no bar, gym, business centre etc) but the rooms were clean and well equipped, the staff spoke good English and were helpful, the breakfast was nice. The location is great for Lapa and Santa Teresa although the areas around the closest metro stations- Carioca and Cinelandia are dangerous at night and to be avoided. The hotel is undergoing renovation ahead of the World Cup and the work could be heard on the 9th floor (taking place on the 14th), and started at 7am- the staff and listings do not disclose this so try and book a room around the 6th floor.

Hotel barato e bom porém o serviço deixa a desejar

fiquei três dias no hotel que é muito limpo, relativamente barato, para o rio de janeiro e tem um bom café da manhã.
no primeiro dia não conseguimos acessar a internet. fui a recepção e recebi a informação que havia um problema que seria resolvido. a internet não voltou nem no segundo nem no terceiro dia. ao serem diversas vezes questionados quanto ao problema, os funcionários do hotel repetiam que o problema não era do hotel, já que estavam trocando o prestador de serviços que dava assistência técnica e nada poderiam fazer.
Nightlife Tip:
O local é muito perto dos barzinhos da Lapa que ficam na rua Mem de Sá. Dá para ir a pé.
