Hotels and tourist restaurants are now expensive however prices at drug stores, groceries etc are reasonable. As hotels are usually full they charge whatever they like and get it. By N.A. standards the hotels prices are too high for what you get.
- Shopping Tip : Don't expect to find cheap clothes or especially shoes in Rio any more. The store prices are just like North America. Those days are gone. Prices are so high for locals that clothing and shoes are advertised at one price or 12 payments of". Imagine buying a pair of shoes on a payment plan??
