Great location on Copacabana Beach, very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Very sparse rooms, no drawers to put your clothes in. very small bathrooms. great location on Copacabana Beach. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. easy and efficient check in and even allowed us to have a late check out. The buffet breakfast is delicious. The rooms are small and sparse, beds are old and not real comfortable, the maid kept taking away our blankets. there is no where in the room to put your clothes. Make sure that you have a beach view, it is definitely worth it. Great view from roof top pool.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : all day tour of Rio was great.

If you are single, Pestana is very close to "Help" (one of the more famous attractions in Rio)- Great location for any type of traveler. Can't really beat the location. Right on the main artery of Copacabana - Avenida Atlantica! If you are willing to pay some money then you will have a nice ocean view room. Night club "Help" is 2 minutes away.
I did not care for the breakfast layout. Fruit was questionable, service was slow, bread not fresh. Food in general was not too good. I did, however, enjoy the bar. They made a caipirinha that pretty much knocked me on my ass (exaggeration of course) but it had a nice kick to it. Very accommodating service with hotel staff.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : take the vans - better than using taxis.
