Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

If you have to be right in the the city centre, it is. There is a metro station within a few blocks.
The central area is run-down, and so is the hotel.
The hotel management are struggling to maintain this hotel's four(?)star rating. The external shutters to the room were inoperable, and obviously in need of replacement. The room was quieter than I expected, as it was located on the 10th floor and overlooked the car park at the rear. Breakfast was reasonable. There is apparently a pool on the roof(it was locked at 8am).
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the metro down to Copacabana if you like the beach, or Catete/Machonda if you want to eat or shop.

room was good size. effective air conditioning.
clean.
taxis always available outside the hotel.
the hotel is in a less safe area and not all that close to the metro.
this is a quiet and clean hotel in the centro area. it is convenient to transport, although on weekends when the area is less safe that distance seems an eternity.

Helpful english speaking staff, great variety for breakfast buffet included in the morning, cheap stay.
Needs some attention with bathroom cleaning and hygiene.
I was satisfied with my 6 days stay at Presidente Hotel. The hotel is very close to cartioca metro station. No hotel can beat the price given at that level of service. Breakfast was between 6 am to 10 am and included eggs, fruit, drinks etc. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is safe yet it is in downtown. This hotel is not for a romantic stay, its a budget friendly hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Make sure you tell the taxi driver to turn on the meter. Always go with meter! Also try to use metro as it is the safest and cheapest way for transportation.
