Fine Cuenca hotel
Character and charm, spacious room, very friendly and helpful staff

Spent our two days in Cuenca at the Crespo. Location is great -- near pretty much everything one needs (historical sites, restaurants and cute bars and cafes) but just a little on the edge of the action, so relaxation is possible. Our third floor room overlooked the city's river and provided a wonderful view to enjoy. We found the staff to be exceptionally welcoming ("estan en su casa"), friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Restaurant Tip:
El Jardin, just down the block from the Crespo, is fine dining at a reasonable price.
