Not bad for what it cost us through Agoda. It's certainly not worth whatever the full asking price is, but then again few hotels are. Make sure to get a room in the quiet tower (el torre silencioso is how the staff refer to it) if at all possible or else you'll be hearing irritating techno music all night. Nu House is new and modern with nice big screen cable TVs and is near the action in the tourist ghetto Mariscal neighborhood. It's also within walking distance (if you're fairly fit) of the old-town and many of Quito's sights. Not bad for what it cost us, though as we arrived at 8 PM we were stuck in one of the loud rooms for the first night. Breakfast was something of a joke for vegetarians, unless you like bread and jam or nasty fried plantain with campesino cheese concoctions... For carnivores they also offered little cocktail sausages and meat balls. The first morning we were there they had mozzarella sticks, but they never brought them out again.
Overall, it's not bad for the price, but I wouldn't pay more than that. You'd be better off renting a nice short-term apartment if you have $100+ a night to spend in Quito. No matter where you stay in Latin America though, you'll have to be prepared for illogical behavior and extremely cavalier attitudes regarding just about everything. It's one of the pros and cons of life in this part of the world...
Convenient location, modern, comfortable, big-screen cable TV, comfortable beds, free internet connection (not wireless though).
Noise in some rooms, some rooms are quite small, full price would be way too high (I got a big discount)
- Restaurant Tip : The Coffee Tree chain (one branch of which is about 20 meters from the hotel) makes some of the best espresso drinks in town. Also, the food court at El Jardin shopping mall (about $1.50 via taxi or a healthy but manageable walk) has all the Western fast food joints you could ask for as well as some good local restaurants. The little Juan Valdez coffee shop in El Jardin makes some great coffee too. You'll probably want some on those frequent wet and chilly Quito days...

We had a pleasant stay at the Nu House hotel. An excellent hotel for the money and the best choice in Quito (comparing to the big hotels like the Hilton). Very nicely located next to plaza Foch.
Clean.
Spacious rooms.
Friendly staff.
Light rooms.
Location.
Noise from the bars and clubs on plaza foch
Hard beds.
- Shopping Tip : Try Quicentro or EL Jardin for US shopping (not US Prices though).

Very nice design hotel on the edge of the Foch Plaza. The rooms are light, spacious and clean and the personnel is very friendly and speaks good English. The hotel has their own taxi service to bring you to any place in Quito for a small amount of money. Breakfast is small but good.
We had a very noisy room from the club/bar below and the beds were very hard.
An excellent stay at this hotel for a very reasonable price comparing to the other hotels in Quito. We definitely recommend this hotel.

- Nightlife Tip : Try the happy hours at plaza foch.
