Grand Bolivar Hotel Lima Info
The Grand Bolivar Hotel has the distinction of being one of the hotels which accommodated Ernest Hemingway during his time in Lima. Built in the early 1920’s but recently renovated, the first sight upon arrival are the elegant glass dome ceiling and the grand staircase, which still contains lovely touches of bygone eras such as the parquet floors. Windows open to a magnificent view of the San Martin Square below. Built to receive foreign dignitaries, the hotel is now a Cultural Heritage site. Guests can enjoy their complimentary breakfasts at the hotel’s rooftop garden or take a nice morning dip in the nearby pool.

Located in a beautiful St. Martin Square, and next to a busy pedestrian-only street that connects to the Main Plaza
Great price and excellent service
There was a late night party at the hotel with loud music the fist night. Howeverat the suggestion of the bellman, I was assigned a room on the 4th floor, where the noise was minimal.
I had an enjoyable stay at this centrally located lovely gem, where I received excellent service. I will definitly consider staying here again on my next visit to Lima.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The hotel is a pleasant walk away from the Central Plaza where all the festivities take place, The president quarters, Cathedral and the Governor's offices are located.
You can also take a MiraTours tour bus from here for various city tours.

This hotel is exceptionally located in downtown Lima. It was a grand hotel and is now a bit less grand, but do not be put off by some wear and tear. The staff is great. The bar is lovely. I felt entirely safe and well cared for.
Some of the rooms are being upgraded. Ask for one without tired carpet. The wood floors are beautiful. The plumbing works fine, but could look a little nicer. Beds are very firm--sheets are very clean!
I was here for a week. My room was fine. Staff was very helpful. Step outside and change money and off you go. You can walk to the Plaza and historic sites. Cabs are easy to find and not expensive. The city keeps improving and the hotel is on the way up. I'd easily stay there again. And for the money I thought it was a very fair rate--and a got a brilliant rate through Agoda.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the store lined walking street (no cars)to the Plaza. With one walk down that street all your basic needs can be met--then you can branch off.
