Grand Bolivar Hotel Lima Info
The Grand Bolivar Hotel has the distinction of being one of the hotels which accommodated Ernest Hemingway during his time in Lima. Built in the early 1920’s but recently renovated, the first sight upon arrival are the elegant glass dome ceiling and the grand staircase, which still contains lovely touches of bygone eras such as the parquet floors. Windows open to a magnificent view of the San Martin Square below. Built to receive foreign dignitaries, the hotel is now a Cultural Heritage site. Guests can enjoy their complimentary breakfasts at the hotel’s rooftop garden or take a nice morning dip in the nearby pool.

Grand old, early 20th century hotel. Very clean.
Only stayed here for six hours for nap and shower between flights. I really want to recommend this grand old dame, but can't.
I arrived at 5AM and hotel was so dark that I wondered if it were even open. Doorman? That is funny. Without my asking, even my cab driver joined me to try to get someone the locked front door. Inside, the lobby could not be darker (think horror movie set). Got room (without a key, guess they figured I was there so briefly that I wouldn't be going in and out). While checking mattress for bed bugs, I found that to be very old and stained. Huge room and walk in closet with very little furniture and a small TV that did not work. Bathroom with circa 1920's fixtures and tiles (many replaced with different colors)
Many reviews mention the noisy street. That was not a problem for my room as it faces an (unattractive) interior court.

room had lots of fittings and lights long windows. loved the view.
highly recommended for a short stay .cannot get better value for money .
Restaurant Tip : to the right of the hotel there are restaurants open till late. for $ 3 one could have a full meal.

El staff del hotel es insuperable, la majestuosidad del hotel.
Por el precio, la majestuosidad del hotel, la atencion del personal, no tiene comparacion. La calidad de la comida en el restaurant es de pimera. El hotel es extremadamente limpio, personal constantemente limpiando. Este sitio es una experiencia digna de vivirse.
