Not in the noisy part of the town, friendly staff once they knew we had reservations
Nothing I can say that I didn't like that would be considered their fault
My family and I stayed on June 8th. I made reservations through Agoda.com and when we got to the hotel, they had no idea we were coming. Their must have been some miscommunication between the 2. But after about 30 minutes of waiting, we got our rooms and had a great time. I will say it is difficult to contact this hotel, about the only thing negative I can say. Otherwise it was a great stay.

Great location a few uphill steps to the bus station and the traim station
Nice sound of the river on front rooms
3rd floor rooms have a balcony
Good price
Slippery shower floor
Need hooks on the back of the bathroom and room door
Fantastic location facing the Urumbamba River. We like to sleep in utter darkness, silence, and chill, and the room was perfect! The roar of the river was a great white-noise backdrop. The room was comfortable and clean, and the shower hot - be careful - the hot and cold shower knobs are reversed from where they are in the states and the porceline tile on the shower floor is slippery! We had a triple - felt a little like Golilocks and the bears! - but it was comfortable. The included breakfast is as filling as you want it to be. Best of all, if you shout out to the driver of the Machu Picchu bus "El Santuario", he'll drop you off right right in front, saving you the downhill trudge back down the hill to the hotel. An excellent stay for a great price.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Indio Feliz restaurant is excellent
Stop by the local sport arena to catch a volleyball game
The mercado has great shopping

Couple blocks from Train station and downtown - Right across the street from the river. No smoke smell in room.
Small bathroom - Knees hit the wall when used toilet - but this is only one room and not indicative of all rooms. Wake up call was quite late (even though written down correctly) which resulted in our missing the opportunity to climb Huyna Piccu (only 400 people per day can climb).
Staff was very friendly and helpful even though English is not their strong suite. Originally was given a room with two beds but after my request for a larger bed they changed rooms. Hotel was clean with spartan rooms. No problem sleeping with the roaring river to lull one to sleep. All in all, was a good place to stay (still annoyed about the late wake up call though - bring your own alarm - don't forget it like we did)
