A bit expensive for 3 start hotel, location far

room side big, aircon cold, hot spring water in room bathtub
Front desk cheerful, took abit time to find my booking as I had done cancel & rebook. Room was arrange at the corner was quiet as I requested. Love the double door inside the room, make you feel very save when sleeping. Cause I saw another room does not have double door as we pass by. But next door neighbour was very noise though as they bang on the wall or somethings. Room aircon was very powerful & big, same as the toilet & bathtub. Room come with fridge too which is gd as we can buy drink put in for night consumption. Location abit far in down the road uphill. Blanket was very small & short, that the bad things. The rest was all okie. Toilet looks old n rusty.

At the end of Guangming Rd

ensuite hot spring bath, minced pork braised in soy sauce for breakfast, free shuttle service to Beitou MRT station
We walked to the hotel from Xinbeitou MRT station. It took us 40 mins on a mostly uphill slope. Here's a handy walking tip: take Zhongshan Rd instead of Guangming Rd. The incline is less torturous and distance wise is shorter. Alternatively, you could wait at Beitou MRT station for the shuttle that runs hourly from 10am to 10pm or Xinbeitou MRT station 10 mins past every hour. The hotel does not have its name in English or its logo out front so make sure you memorise the Chinese characters or the facade from the hotel website. The locals may not recognise the name of the hotel. It is a short walk away from Puji Temple and Thermal Valley on opposite sides. The room was of adequate size and the bed was comfortable. However, the paint on the door frame was peeling badly and there was only 1 bedside table provided (uh hello? double occupancy). The toilet fixtures were old and kind of creepy with the dim yellow lights. Water pressure was good though and the main point of our stay was the ensuite hot spring bath. We were not disappointed with the bath. The public / outdoor hot spring pools are located on the 7th floor. There are 3 thermal pools and 1 long foot bath. Perfect to soak away stress and tiredness. The view is priceless. Breakfast was a little bit of west (i.e. sliced bread and baguette with your choice of butter, two types of jam, soft philly(?) cheese spread, ham and sliced cheddar cheese with a small salad selection, coffee and tea) and whole lotta east. The Taiwanese love their congee (porridge) and you can expect to find a big steaming pot of it at the start of the buffet line. Fix yourself a bowl of steaming hot congee and a generous ladle of minced pork braised in soy sauce and you're set for a delicious start to breakfast. This came highly recommended by one of the breakfast ladies and I whole heartedly agree. Wash it all down with unsweetened hot soy milk. As we say in Malaysia "sedap giler!"
