Short Overnight Stay

Atmosphere and Dining
We had a late check in for a short overnight stay before our flight back to Asia. Staff very friendly and attentive. Dinner was good but breakfast was better-more options to chose from. Only disappointment was the noise outside the room from the kitchen and restaurant until 11pm at night.

Best Suprise of our 17 day trip to Australia

great staff, wonderful accommodations and the food was amazing!
Every single aspect was excellent ... helped with baggage, room was great, everyone was so nice, excellent value, freedom to use all the common spaces (which was so nicly set up), wonderful food, fun location ...

Overnight stay

The breakfast, the amenities in the room, friendly service.
Hassle free. I booked the last room available the day before, which was a courtyard room, which was perfectly fitted out with all the amenites, including cold and boiling hot drinking water and expresso machine. Being on the ground floor, it was a little dark inside, so I needed to have all the lights on. It was only a kilometre from Newfarm park, so easy walking distance to the park and other restaurants/cafes. It is what I expect for that price range.

Very pleasant

Quiet Convenient Low-key
Our second stay at Spicers Balfour. The room was very comfortable - especially the bed. Lovely big bathroom. Very good breakfast - but service is very slow due to a large influx of dining patrons not staying in-house. Sequencing was odd too - my husband's porridge and eggs arrived (finally) at the same time which meant his eggs were cold by the time he had eaten the porridge. We probably should have asked for the eggs to be kept warm, but as we had an appointment to attend, and as we could see how stretched the staff were, we let it pass. Overall a positive experience, but a few tweeks needed to bring it back up to the standard of our previous stay.

Great hotel, superb food and friendly service

Service was superb, food was fantastic, bar was excellent
We had a fantastic stay, the courtyard room was very small for two people but very well appointed and very comfortable. The service was brilliant, very efficient and friendly we felt really well looked after and valued. The food at the restaurant was excellent and probably was the best of the trip for my wife and I. We would definitely make a return visit.

Comfortable bed, great staff, different
Excellent. Only issue would be that you do hear some noise from outside the room.

Great little Boutique Hotel

Roof top bar
We booked a 2 night stay in the courtyard room, it was well decorated, modern, clean and equiped with a safe, Bosse sound system, tv, Nespresso machine, hot & cold water billi. Decent size bathroom with a rain shower and nice toiletries. A very comfortable large bed with a selection of pillows. Outside the view is a very tiny bamboo/pebble garden with a very tall grey wall backdrop, this complements the trendy boutique style and provides visual privacy. The breakfast was superb! A selection of fruit, yoghurt, cerials, breads and a choice of mouth watering cooked delights, my favourite was the spring omelettes. The roof top bar is a must with great views of the city and Story bridge. It is approximately a 20 min walk from the hotel to Queen street or a 10 min walk to the nearest ferry station. City Hopper provides a free ferry service and runs every 30 mins. We found it easy to get around on foot, although it is quite hilly. There are some great eating establishments around the New Farm area. The staff were friendly and attentive. I would not hesitate in recommending this lovely hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: The Lone Pine Koala Santuary is worth a visit, you can get there by Bus from the Central station.
