Close to night bazaar but older hotel

location, location, location
It was just average, the room and furnishing is old, they still use old fat tv that didn't work, so staff has to replace the tv, there is only one English channel I believe. The bed is a little hard for me. The breakfast that comes with it was just ok, the spread were a few selection of western and asian food like soup porridge and rice noodles. I probably will try another hotel if I go back to Chiang Mai.

Hotel bed is not comfort and wifi keep logout

breakfast quite good
The big/double bed in the deluxe room is combined of 2 twins bed, feel uncomfortable if sleep in the middle. When i make booking through Agoda, it stated Double Or Twin Deluxe Bed(cannot add extra bed), another option Deluxe bed which is more expensive but can add extra bed, after checked in, found that Double Or Twin Deluxe Bed and Deluxe bed room are same size, all can add extra bed, so not worth to pay more on the deluxe bed. The wifi in the hotel always disconnect, we need to re-login every morning and everytime come back from tour, we have put "remember" password, still it doesn't work.

Good hotel, but breakfast and bathtub

Comfortable, good stay, but unpleasant bathtub
We had a good stay at The Star Hotel with helpful and friendliness staff and easy access to shopping arcade. However, the breakfast quality must be improved, great dining, and bathtub must be renovated as it was slippery we were about to fall every time when showering. Also the shower isn't suitable for disabled guest. But overall was impressive.

Spend a few more bucks and save yourself

Location was good and it was cheap and the staff were very friendly.
Firstly, the hot water barely worked it was on and off constantly. The bathrooms were very worn. The hallway leading into the room and the room had a funky smell. It felt claustrophobic and my three day stay could not have been over quicker.

Good overall

Good Location, clean room
The actual stay was quite pleasant. We had a spacious room which was clean and tidy. The bathroom a bit small but not an issue. Room was always made up properly each day, and all bathroom toiletries replineshed. The room does not have a safe though so you have to carry your valuables with you. The hotel also does not have an iron to iron clothes. Breakfast is not flash but not bad either - they change the dishes every day so you get some variety. The only issue we faced was with airport transfer as it is somewhat unreliable. We had requested for airport transfer while booking as we were landing late at night. We got a note back from the hotel stating it was THB 120 per person and for us to confirm if we wanted to go ahead. We confirmed via email but did not get a confirmation back from the hotel for days. This caused a bit of anxiety as we didnt know if we were getting picked up. Fortunately the guy was there. A similar thing happened on our way back - we requested for airport transfer the day before checking out and the front desk staff confirmed for 1pm. We checked again at 12.30pm and it was all confirmed. However at 1pm the staff advised that the hotel taxi was unavailable. So better to make your own arrangements to get to the airport.
