Affordable Stay

Affordable, neat room, location
It is more like a service apartment type of accommodation. Thus do not expect overzealous staff pandering to one’s whims and fancies. The staff very much leaves guests alone, which is not a problem for me. Location is a little far from the nearest metro (ShangCheng) station – about 10 minute brisk walk or 15 minute stroll. It is however, near to the gigantic Next Age Yaohan dept. store and a few other more trendy shopping centres in the vicinity. Room is not big, but sufficient. It has a washing machine in the bath and a small kitchenette (minus hot plate) in the room. Water pressure is strong and the air-con works. Bed is comfortable enough. The study desk is a nice touch but the window is comparatively small so the room appears dim. LED TV has many channels (mostly in Chinese & some Japanese). As in most parts of China, most of the staff does not speak English. The front-desk staff knocks off after 11 pm, so a problem for guests who check-in during the wee hours of the morning. Forget about the in-house eatery. There are many Chinese eateries and 7-11(open 24 hours) type of outlets nearby. The room price commensurate with the hotel & room standard- thus a value for money. I may visit again, if I need to be in this part of Shanghai in future.

Nice location!!!!

Hotel location is quite ok, near bank, 15-20 min walk to Century Ave Metro line2 station, walking distance to some of the hi end mall like Nextage mall and other mall.. Theres a lot of small restauran
The problem is one person only at reception, dont know english, hard to communicate, our room is small but quite ok for the cheap price... Our aircon is leaking, called front desk no worker available because its off duty already. So i have to improvise, use all the trash can to catch water, put towel on top bec its quite noisy the dripping of water to the trash can, put all towel on the floor, and on the table bec the floor is flooded with water, i have 2 kids with us they might slip and fall. The location is not good if your going to NECC. Around 10-20min walk to metro station then ride train going to east (last station ) then its necc already around 40-50minutes cheaper than taxi cost rmb 5 each person. Hotel to airport rmb 150. Cheaper, compare to airport hotel taxi van,(not actual taxi like a rented car or van, 4 adult 2 kids they charge us Rmb 500. The hotel doesnt have bell boy so u have to carry all your luggage on your own, the reception is separated from the units, free small bottled water, no wifi available, no breakfast also, the water heater is for every 20minutes only. After 20min it will automatically shut down. They have washing machine inside the toilet. If your going to use the microwave u have to pay rmb50, u have to tell the receptionist. Its like an apartment type. Over all if you like a cheaper room rate this is ok. But if you like an 4-5 star hotel type, this is not your hotel.

it is quite old hotel, with only basic facilities.

l would like to say that it is max. 2 stars hotel. it has very basic facilities, only internet with cable. it hasnot wifi equipped and a bit far from underground. i probably not come again.
The check in and check out were quick. But the room was a bit dark because the window was small. The boardband internet was acceptable, but no WiFi. The wash room is small.

Great stay, clean nice rooms

Clean rooms, centrally located, easy access to the city.
I think each and every Hotal in China rates it's self on a different scale and standard to Hotels in other countries. I can never confirm or agree with the Star rating of Chinese Hotels. That said, this Hotel like many Hotels in China was lovely with great value for money. The Staff were helpful in their own way and the rooms as usual were clean and tidy.

Large Room which suitable for groups

clean, big room, suitable for couples or groups
Kitchen, small tiny living room, 1 bathroom and 2 bedroom. This is what most people are looking for when go to somewhere to travel. So far this booking didn't disappoint me as i believe you really need a living room for a gang of friends to stay & chit chat together

Clean, Location and Value for Money

Clean, large rooms and access to public transport
I stay this hotel altoger for 5 nights so far. I am in Shanghai for a month and it is difficult to find a reasonable short term stay apartment in a decent location for a budget price. This hotel is in Pudong in a nice, relatively clean and new suburb as oppose to Zhabei or Putuo where other serviced apartments are. Those areas are a lot older and streets appear to be filthy in comparison. The rooms were refurbed in 2010 and built for Shanghai expo at the time, well maintained and room feels clean and fresh. It a 5-10 mins walk to Shangchenglu Subway. Some rooms comes with washing machines which is very handy. The apartment is fitted out with a kitchenett but all equipment are on request though you pay a minimal one off fee. I haven't had to cook during my stay. All in all this is great value for money, a decent business hotel and very quiet guests. I would look to stay here again for another week after my trip to Beijing.
