A week in Tokyo

Friendly Staff, Excellent Location, Traditional Ryokan Experience
9.7
It was a pleasure staying at the Yado Sadachiyo Ryokan for the final leg of my April Japan trip. The location is excellent (Sensō-ji is a few blocks away), the staff was friendly and helpful (they even had a cute wood carving name tag made for me) and while expensive (kaiseki is always expensive) the food was excellent. There are older more authentic Ryokans in Japan around Kyoto and on some of the more out of the way spots but if you want a taste of traditional Japanese lodging while visiting the temples and Tokyo this is an excellent and fairly priced choice.

The nicest staff I've ever met

The friendliness of the staff, the service, the interior of the hotel/room
10
It was great!! Too bad it was only for 1 night. But we really felt welcome when we arrived. The lady was so bubbly and friendly and took care of everything. Everybody always have their smile on their face. The friendliest staff I have ever met and they explain everything about the room and how to use the public bath (Stone bath and Wooden bath which we took advantage of it and felt very relaxed)..(we did have our private bathroom) and it's a very traditional Edo style place. The room and bathroom is very clean. The location was only 5 minute walk from the temple and shops and also very close from the train station. Before we left, they gave us some small gifts..wooden tags with our name on it which is cool! and a small bag of candies. We would love to go back next time. We totally recommend this place! V&PA
