Great location near Mitsukoshi shopping
Japanese bath, clean rooms
We weren't in the room all that much because the hotel is close to Ginza and great shopping. The hot bath at the end of a walk-filled day was delightful.

Small hotel with equally small rooms!
Friendly, English-speaking Front Desk
The rooms are really small and not suitable for Twin/ Double use. The wash basin leaked from beneath.

Friendly, helpful staff, tiny room
Ningyouchou is a wonderful neighborhood, so when I had to find a room for a few days during a business trip, I limited my search to this area. Some travel sites rated the three hotels in this block about the same, and this was a bit cheaper, so I gave it a try. It's only a couple blocks from the Ningyouchou station on the Hibiya line, and a few blocks from the Kayabachou station on the Touzai line. This puts you in easy striking range of Tsukiji fish market, the horse races, the Ginza, Akihabara, etc.. The staff were simply delightful, and filled in with English where my Japanese left off. The room was absurdly tiny. Just enough room for the bed and an 18" strip around it. I had to work a bit, and had to sit in bed with my PC on my lap, because there wasn't really room for the stool and me between the desk and bed. The complimentary wired internet worked reliably and easily. The room is equipped with one of those little modular bathrooms. The tub was deep, and three feet long, so not so good for couples, unless they, too, are very small. The metal blinds were a bit bent up, preventing good light block. Could be rough with a hangover. Occasional wafts of cigarette smoke penetrate the room. They do have an ofuro (Japanese bath) but I didn't have time to check it out.

Clean and very Japanese.
Clean, short taxi ride from Tokyo station.
This is a pleasant enough hotel but not really memorable. There was a large school group there and that didn't help. Staff tried to be helpful but had very little English. The hotel is not really near anything important so travelling is always involved. It was relatively cheap by Tokyo standards. The price does not include breakfast. There are sure to be better places to stay.

Great location, superb value for money
Located at the financial centre of Tokyo - Nihonbashi area
this is my return trip to tokyo after travelling around japan and i chose to stay at sumisho hotel again simply because it offers the best value for money and the most convenient location to travel to the haneda airport. i would have a very early flight to catch the next morning, so needed to stay somewhere close to airport limousine bus terminals. and sumisho is only 15min walk from the t-cat, where buses depart for haneda airport as early as 4:45am (arriving at 5:10am) ! and since i wanted to visit a few other places in tokyo before leaving, i would like to stay somewhere convenient. sumisho is located only within 5min walk from the ningyucho subway station (or mitsukoshi or nihonbashi stations), from where you can easily go to ginza and roppongi.

Superb location, great value for money!
Located at the heart of Tokyo with ease of access to major JR/Subway stations
this small yet cosy hotel combines almost all good features that a serious traveller would ask for, great location, decent price, friendly staff, clean and nice condition, free internet, free hot spa, just to name a few. i arrived at tokyo haneda airport at 01:00am and the reception is open 24hrs, so i had no problem checking in with the help of its friendly staff. located at the heart of tokyo, it's within walking distance (20min) from tokyo station, shin nihongbashi station, ningyucho subway station. it was quite easy to find with its detailed direction map. the mitsukoshi flagship depertmental store is nearby, so is tokyo stock exchange if you fancy a visit.

Pleasant, traditional Japanese style entrance, but
Unusual appearance of the entrance for a non-traditional Japanese hotel; staff very pleasant, had enough English to make things easy; Japanese breakfast at hotel not included, and not cheap, but good and in tatami space with leg-holes.
Room was clean, bed was comfortable and everything worked, but the decor is old and verges on shabby with wallpaper starting to peel back at the edges; a little hard to find, inconspicuous on a small side-street
i was perfectly content with my stay at sumisho. the location is actually not bad -- not particularly near anything exciting, but close to a metro stop and about 15 minutes brisk walk from tokyo station, and not very far from asakusa and ginza. although the room decor is in need of some renovation, it didn't bother me. the single room is typical "business hotel" -- just enough space for the bed and the standard self-contained bathroom module. i was met there in the morning by an elderly japanese friend, and we enjoyed talking quietly over breakfast in the traditional-style restaurant. i would be happy to stay there again.

Great location but small rooms
close to local subway exit, nice and friendly service, clean
older hotel, small rooms
We stayed in this hotel for one night before heading to Kyoto, but we arrived late in the night so for convenience to local shopping and sightseeing I don't have any comment. It was close to a local subway exit which was helpful, and the taxi ride to the main Tokyo station is not far either (base fare). The staff is very friendly Overall, it was clean and a decent stay for the price paid.

Quiet location but small rooms
Friendly service, quiet neighborhood, convenient local subway access
Even though the hotel is farther way from the main Tokyo station, it is a quick taxi ride so I think it was worth the money than staying at the expensive hotels right next to the station. Clean rooms although small, sufficient for a short stay. Convenient store around the corner, easy access to food and local subway.
