luxury on a smaller scale.

bed, quite and clean and close to everything
Wonderful stay, cute boutique hotel in the heart of the city. The tube is close. Restaurants close. Chelsea area is great to walk around and shopping areas. Location, quite street . Small elevator so no good for anyone with needs. One person at a time size. Lobby was stylish , great art books , you can sit and have tea on the sofas.

Unassuming hotel in Chelsea

Great central location, nearby restaurants, close to the tube
Only a quick one night stay, but very nice. The room I was in was not large, but was certainly adequate for a short stay. Great bed, hot water, quiet, walking distance to many excellent restaurants, close to tube stop. This hotel was an excellent value and was perfect for my needs.

Quaint, modern excellent service

Newly refurbished and decorated, excellent attentive staffs, quite location.
Less than 5 minutes walk to south Kensington tube station. excellent service staff Barbara lets us check in before 10am and gave us free upgrade to a Premier Deluxe room. Rooms were a little on the small side though its a Premier Deluxe, but for the the price we pay in London and for the location in South Kensington, it's really quite a good deal. Is's still big enough to access the bed from all 3 sides rather than some which only allow you to get on the bed on one side only. Bed is a King size 6 feet width, firm yet comfortable. Toilet is new and modern. The most important are the wonderful staffs which are always smiling and welcoming. Especially Victor and Barbara. Overall a wonderful stay, highly recommend.

Great little hotel in a fabulous location

Location is fantastic (public transport, shops, restaurants, museums nearby)/ Staff is friendly, attentive, competent/ Room was bright, clean, comfortable.
Our stay was wonderful. The location made it easy to hop in and out all day to drop off/ pick up stuff, rest or whatever as opposed to being out from morning till night. The staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient. They made it much nicer than staying in a larger, impersonal hotel. The room was very clean, the beds comfortable and although you cannot make coffee in the room, its easily available downstairs where they serve breakfast, or through room service if you want that. My only suggestion is that they put a hand rail to get in and out of the bathtub safely (its a bit high), especially for older folks.

Lovely hotel but quite small

Nice location, very good looking, extremely near to tube station, very nice area
We arrived too early but our luggage was stored for us. The lift is very small and can accomodate 1-2 people, the room is small but nicely arranged. Even though arriving on New Years Eve, everything was nice. They asked for a 50 Pound Credit Card Safety Permission but if everything is OK they wont charge. Reception is 24 hours available. Summarized a pleasant stay.

home base in london

great service confortable stay
used Sydney House Hotel as our home base while in Europe. We were able to leave some of our luggage there while we traveled to Italy, then returned for a night before we left. So easy, our luggage was there in our room when we arrived. :)
