Unable to sleep

Location, staff and fast check-in/out
Just right next to tram station and Heineken Experience. Checking in and out was easy and the staff were polite, helpful and attentive. All these things, great as they are, nullified by the awful bed and noise! You can hear every little step of everyone makes and all their talks! Coz the stairway is situated in the middle of all the rooms. But for what you pay, shouldnt expect much. Just bring your earplugs and it will be alright.

I don't know if you can call it a hotel. It was a miniscule room with no ventilation. The reception was in a building a few doors away and if you wanted a cup of tea you had to pay for hot water. The TV in the room was fixed quite high with no remote control. This was one of 8 places we stayed during our 5 week vacation and it was by far the worst

food is not allowed in the room is bad for budget.

centrally located
Food is not allowed in the room. No hotpot in the room, so it's not possible to eat instant noodles, no coffee or tea in the room, WiFi doesn't work in the Room. (have to sit on stair outside the room to use and doesn't always work) Not good for budget traveller at all.

They let us leave
This is clearly a budget backpackers hostel and not a hotel. The lobby is in a different building about 50 meters down the road. The building does not have a lift and they gave us (one of us is over 50 years old) rooms on the 4th floor. So we had to lug our suitcases up the crazy narrow staircase that is so common in Amsterdam buildings. The stairs was old, dusty and gave off a funny smell. The rooms were reasonably clean but tiny and the windows open to the stairs. Not a place i would stay again or recommend to others.

Good location but lots of stairs

Location and bathroom
we liked the location of this hotel, just near the heineken factory and one of amsterdams big museums. our smallish room was up a few stairs but that wasn't too bad for us. the room was basic, and one night our key just didn't work so we had to go back to the other building to get it fixed. we didn't mind our stay here but were a little put off when told that they keep a deposit for 6 months, which i don't really understand. the bathroom was really good and big though and i loved the big window that opened onto the street(could be too noisy for some though).

Great location but small rooms

Location was fantastic
The hotel is located near Rijksmuseum and the museum for Van Gogh. Only 5 minutes walking and a bit more to Leidseplein and all the etnich restaurants. Trams just around the corner if you are nonwalking.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Rijksmuseum and van Gogh museum nearby as well as the market in Albert Cuipstraat. Great cafees and restaurants around.

Great location, but poor service and dirty rooms

This hotel is in a good location, but that's about it! The service is poor, the rooms dirty and the curtains haven't been washed in years. From the bathroom drainage came a constant foul smell, the matress were too soft and the pillows too low. The breakfast is very, very basic, but then what can you expect for EUR3. If you are on a survival trip, this hotel is maybe a good challenge, but for any other traveller I can only recommend to try to find something else.
