Getting around to the sites will not be a problem because the Vincennes Metro line is just around the corner and directly accesses all of the major sites in Paris. There is a wide variety of dining options in the immediate area, similar to just about anywhere else in Paris. Wine enthusiasts will be pleased to learn of the very nearby "Paris Wine Tasting Experience" where an entire afternoon can be spent sampling the whites and reds that have made France widely regarded as the finest wine-producer in the world. A great budget option that maintains easy access to the city, Tamaris Hotel is definitely worth a look.

A small, simple room, no aircondition

it's close by bus and Subway station
This is a very small hotel on the dirty and smell awful street, also with a very laud construction noise. There is no coffee, no tea pot in the room, you have to pay $9 Euro for your coffee, tea, breakfast, but there is no eggs, no meat. We paid expensive Euro, but lived in a small room with a tiny, simple washroom, the room doesn't have air condition,it was very hot at night.....

a little run down but good value

35€ per night. 2 minutes from Metro. female reception staff were very friendly
2 minutes round the corner from Metro. Daytime Reception staff (female) were friendly and happy to help. Early check in posed no problem. room: for 35€ i should not complain. BUT the lazy housekeeping made my eyes roll. Generally clean but a very long frizzy hair was on my fresh bath towel AND another same hair was under my pillow!! I later encountered a housekeeping lady in the corridor and the hairs found matched hers. So i was not impressed by that. Again it is just a petty complain. I can recommend this place for solo travellers, budget travellers, backpackers. wifi free and fast in the reception lobby. Wifi Not available in the rooms. i didnt take breakfast nearby: small supermarkets (casino, diaz, monoprix, organic food shop)

"Ratty, dingy and dark" w/OK location.

The location was OK, close to a good line Metro so you could get anywhere in the city quickly.
We were in a pinch and needed a last minute hotel in Paris for 1 night before catching an early morning flight at CDG; however, had I taken the time to book a hotel prior to the night before we needed it, I'm certain I could have found a more pleasant place to stay for the money... it was not cheap, and certainly much more money for what you get. It's extremely small and I mean extremely small, the kind of small that you cannot have your suitcase, bed and a person in the same room small.... that was really unacceptable. The hotel seemed very old and perhaps not on the nicest street in the best area of Paris. Fortunately, we had stayed in Paris 2 weeks prior to this stay and had a marvelous experience at a lovely hotel for much less money per night. My advice to any traveler is to book ahead of your stay (like I usually do), and don't wait until the last minute or else you're pretty much stuck w/what you get.

Cozy hotel at remote location

comfortable lobby with free wifi
The hotel is at a bit far from downtown, but it's about a 5-10 minutes walk from the closest subway station. The area appeared to be residential and you would not find many restaurants nearby. The lobby settings looked warm and cozy, but the room was a bit too dark and old. The hotel is near to a school which is a bit noisy in the morning

cheap (with discount anyway); near nice pizza house; free wi-fi
what's to like: cheap; clean sheets; free wi-fi. what's not to like: breakfast poor value; toilet roll never replaced, so only just lasted 3 nights; .... & the deal-breaker: on day 2 the toilet started to leak; when I returned after a busy day I was told it had been fixed and advised not to put "things" down there, as if to suggest it was my fault. The only things I put down there (aside from the severely-rationed toilet paper) were exactly what it was designed to receive -- which pretty well sums up the hotel's attitude!

Good Location but small rooms

Value, Location
I did not like the room, it was old and the telephone did not work. The room was also not very clean and the furniture was old and a chair was broken. The bathroom is very small. I liked only the location of the hotel.
