Pleasantly surprised after reading previous review

Good location to major attractions, friendly attentive staff and a nice restaurant with free WIFI.
I was pleasantly surprised after reading reviews and I went in expecting the worst. The hotel looks like it may have had its day back in the 80s as it does look a little rundown inside and out, however that being said, the staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful, and the location was superb for visiting the local attractions. The room was large with big windows for light however the view was of rooftops but if the hotel is just your base for visiting, then this shouldn't matter after all it's not a beach resort. The quality of the room was simple with ageing fittings and furniture that have certainly had their day but the AC worked well and the minibar was stocked. I only mention that the place has seen better days due to the price asked for one night here is not low when compared to Southeast Asia, but that being said this country is not as well catered for tourism as that of Southeast Asia. The price is however competitive when compared to similar hotels in the area. I would stay here again but would advise people staying here to expect less and be pleasantly surprised at what you actually get. The staff are Great!

May be OK if not for terribly cold aircon

Walking distance to Bogyoke Market, close to bake shop and local restos
Room temperature can't be controlled, except to put off when too cold room

Close to the city center and train station

Very helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast is good and the air conditioning in the room is efficient.
We had occupied three beds in our room. Unfortunately one of the beds had bed bugs and my spouse had rashes in her body after first night. Overall, the staff is helpful.

A value for money hotel. Spacious room and clean.

Clean, Friendly and Value for Money
Hotel is centrally located with commercial area. Close to 2 five star hotels. The pricing is value for money, rooms are clean and spacious displaying classic burmese teak flooring. Breakfast was simply set options to pick from. Friendly staff. Internet service was poor but this is the nation's problem as a whole.

Great location for sightseeing on foot

Location, price, location
I extended my stay to take advantage of the great central location for touring around the city on foot. Hotel is comfortable enough, clean enough, service good enough. Nothing special, but nothing really to complain about. It serves its purpose of providing a place to base your touring.

Good location can walk to scott market in 5 mins

Good location, breakfast and wifi
Reception can speak English well. Great location for shopping as near scott market and good breakfast. You can use free wifi. Air con is a bit cold and the room is a bit old. Therefore, this hotel is recommended to stay in short period. You can call taxi in front of the hotel to china town, indian town, myanmar restaurant in 2 dollars and airport in 8 dollars.
