Ideal location

Clean comfortable perfect location
was very helpful and courteous ... We complained about one of the rooms and he changed it for us on the spot but charged an extra ... Was helpful in securing for us a van to take us to Nagarkot ...will come again

Location, nice room & quiet
Really loved the central location, yet the hotel was lovely & quiet. The rooms were comfy, clean & nicely decorated. The staff couldn't do enough to help & were really friendly

Great hotel with Internet and excellent breakfast.

Breakfast, Internet, location.
Hotel is great. Kathmandu is a polluted impoverished wasteland.

Modern comfort luxuries in the city

Super clean and spacious rooms and bathrooms. Well-spoken staff were attentive to any issues raised. Food was excellent for a hotel in this area.
The hotel is easily found on an unnamed side-street off Thamel Marg (North of Ashok Galli). Staff were friendly and spoke English well. There was an issue with lack of water supply in the bathroom but the staff were quick to manage this and promptly tried to fix it before offering me another room close by. Hot showers were readily available, though when the power-outages occurred in Kathmandu the Hotel did not have their own power generator, even for basic lights. Enjoy your extras such as cable TV in the evenings after dinner at night instead when the power is on (though really you should be out during the day anyway, so the lack of generator is not really an issue). Rooms are spacious, with generous lighting (when the power is on), wooden floorboards and plenty of wardrobe and hanging space. Rooms can be quite light during the day due to the large windows looking out onto the central garden or lower-lying neighbours. Queen beds with high quality linen and good towels are a welcome luxury. Safe drinking water is supplied in a thermos as are clean glasses, shampoo and soap. Breakfast is excellent and you can have a speedy, full 'American' breakfast (tea/coffee, juice, bacon, sausages, eggs, toast, spreads, and fruit salad +more) for approximately 370R. Get it included in your deal and you'll be well-satisfied until lunch. This place is a bit pricey for the budget traveller looking for private rooms in a hotel but it is well worth it, perhaps for a few relaxing days at the end of your trip.

Just plain normal

free wifi, center location and easy access
Thamel Eco Resort was quite "old" hotel. The room was spacious and got hot shower too. It's just that I hope they provide toilet slipper. The staff there were friendly. Maybe it will be my first and last stay in Thamel Eco Resort.

Friendly Hotel with a quiet garden to relax in

Friendly Staff, Garden to relax in, Good Breakfast
Khatmandu is a very busy, noisy, dirty city but coming back from sightseeing this hotel offered a nice quiet courtyard to relax and unwind in. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and the food was good.

Comfy and convenient

I really enjoyed the garden courtyard, the delicious breakfast and comfortable beds
I stayed here a few nights before, between and after trekking. The staff was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The garden courtyard is lovely and a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Thamel, as it is tucked away off the main street. Their restaurant had great food and was very good value. The location is excellent,in the heart of Thamel and in a safe area. I thought the rooms were a bit overpriced but still I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend the hotel to others. The courtyard really is a plus!

Overall good, but could use some work

Location in Thamel, Safety, Friendly staff
Overall the resort was nice. The beds were comfortable, it usually had electricity, only short outages infrequently. I was surprised by the number of TV channels in English. The breakfast was pretty good. Mostly western types of breakfast items. The staff were usually friendly and willing to help. Just a couple bumps in the road. I had lost my luggage and they tried to help me find it the first 2 days I stayed there before my trek. The airport called to let them know my luggage arrived while I was away on my trek and the resort never passed the message on to me when I returned. I found out that my luggage had finally arrived when I went to the airport to check one last time before I left the country. Also, I had reserved a room for myself my last night in Kathmandu, but the resort overbooked, so they gave me the option to share a room with one of my trekking mates who had also reserved a room for herself or to switch to a partner hotel. We decided to share a room because we didn't want to have to change hotels, but we were not compensated or refunded any money for sharing, when we had each paid for our own rooms. The Wi-Fi was spotty as well. Some times it worked, other times it didn't. There were other nice hotels around that same area for different rates. If I return to Nepal, I think I will try a different place.

Enjoyable, friendly, helpful staff

Breakfast included, airport shuttle, comfortable beds
I have enjoyed my stay at Thamel Eco Resort. The staff tried to help me with getting my lost luggage. Breakfast was decent with a good selection. Even omelettes on the spot. It isn't a five star hotel, but definitely a great hotel for a decent price. TVs were available in the rooms. I would stay here again.

Pre and post trekking

Situated right in the Thamel area, the garden, and the daily cleaning of the room.
Basic but comfortable, the bathrooms need to be renovated.. We stayed there pre and post trekking and stayed in two different rooms. Both bathrooms were very cramped and the hot water is not reliable. Staff were helpful and the security guy was brilliant, always smiling and willing to help out. There was a wide variety to choose from at breakfast and the dining area was clean.
