Location, Food, Pool
I checked in on Thursday and the Wi-Fi wasn't working and the safe was also locked. After numerous attempt to call for assistance, a lady finally came to unlock the safe while she was of no help with the Wi-Fi. Then around 9pm we got a call that there will be construction near our room and that we would be re-located. That was a great inconvenience and when while we got "upgraded" the next day, the bathroom in the new "upgraded" room would leak a brown liquid all over the place. Not only it was disgusting, the maintenance staff basically came and wipe it off with a towel (good luck using those orange towels). So every time it rained, our bathroom will start dripping a brown liquid. Don't think I'll be revisiting this hotel in the near future.

Nice stay, good location

Hotel was convenient, had good staff. Pool was great. Room was clean however there was mosquitos which I think was the only down side of the stay. The rest was just perfect

Really good value

Good size, comfortable rooms. Large, clean pool. Friendly staff.
I had a very good and relaxed stay. The resort was great. The rooms were terrific with good beds and hot showers. They had three restaurants and two bars. Less than 5 minutes walk to Bangla Rd. You won't be disappointed if you stay there.

Third stay and still wonderful

Room - premier room was amazing. Location was great. Pool was nice.
We usually stay in the deluxe rooms near the dolphin wing but this time we stayed in a premier room in the other wing. It was an amazing room and very large. I would stay in this room again or even splurge and go the pool access one. Breakfast is always very good but the vegetarian sandwich is very ordinary (on their room service menu) with too much capsicum and onion. I will be back.

Convenient but needs updating

My stay at Thara Patong was mediocre. Besides the great location, the rooms and amenities was in poor condition. The bed, phone, pillows smelled, the mattress was rock hard and one of the pools was under maintenance so we couldn't use it during our stay there. All in all, I definitely wouldn't rate the hotel as high as it is currently rate at now.

Low season

location, location, location
Staff were great, but since it was low season, a lot of renovation (drilling, painting) going on. No lift, so if you have baby and stroller, go for ground floor rooms. (we requested high floor to be fair to staff). Walk along beach or beach road for shorter distance to the pubs. No bathtub (shouldn't a 4 star have this at least?), toothbrush on request only (why?). Pool closed by 7 pm, opened at 8 am.

Not a bad hotel except for certain issues

Location, pools
We were allocated rooms on 3rd level of the Dolphin Wing (deluxe rooms) which to a light sleeper and a person who does to bed early like me, was bad. In the night we could hear the booming of the music from a pub and it didn't stop till nearly 1.00 am. During of one of nights we stayed there, there were fireworks/crackers at 3.00 am. We tried to change rooms after the first night but was told it was fully occupied which was suspicious during an off peak season. Staff at the hotel were mostly unfriendly at the check in and at the buffet breakfast venue. it was hard to get attention of staff unless you are a Caucasian. The staff gathered together at the counter and chit chatted. Trying to get them to refill our coffee and tea were most difficult. When we tried to do the refill ourselves, the staff would quickly approached our table and take the pot from us and gave us disgusted looks.
