This tropical oasis is situated on the private Nakalay bay right next to Kamala and Patong. Relax at one of the few remaining unspoiled private beaches for a unique Phuket experience. The free-form lagoon swimming pool is considered one of the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia. You will experience the ultimate sense of space and freedom at this Kamala beach resort. A hospitable Thai welcome awaits in the comfort of the spacious Thai style lobby. The refreshing welcome drink will help you unwind from your long journey.

Nakalay Beach is one of the largest stretches of unspoiled private beach in Phuket. The sea is very shallow for a long distance, meaning that the water goes back a long way when the tide is low, revealing mostly natural dead coral and rock. Check the tide tables displayed by the beach for the best times to take a swim.

Good location. The view from the room is amazing

Clean , comfortable, good location
The view from our room is amazing! The service is pretty good but little slow.. The beach is quiet rocky when the tide is low.. The room is very clean and comfortable.. Nothing to complain.. We love our stay there.. Shuttle bus front the hotel is very useful and can help you save a lot from taxi.. The most annoying part is the cable car.. We need to wait for it everytime when we need to go back or leave our room

Peace, tranquility and patience

Excellent location, quiet but close to entertainment, spacious
Stayed at Thavorn for the last week of 2015. Picked the hotel because of the private beach and the gigantic pool, as well as the proximity to Patong and being close to Surin and Bangtao beach. We really liked the space of the gardens and the tranquility of the private beach. The hotel was fully occupied during our stay and it never felt crowded. The breakfast has offerings for everyone and is of good quality. The other F&B outlets are okay. We liked the coffeeshop a lot next to the pool with good coffee and fresh juices. They might consider to add some sandwiches or small salads to the menu. The staff is attentive but we often encountered "lost in translation" moments and speed is slow. The pool bar is fun but a happy hour from 16:00 to 18:00 is a bit early. The other thing we didn't enjoy is the drinks are being served at the same time. So if you order a beer, you receive two at the same time. The team definitely has some star players but overall they have to do some more training and some English lessons. With a little effort they could bring it back to a 5 star experience. Good luck!

Customer loyalty

We have stayed here on a number of occasions and note that maintenance is only being undertaken in an as needs basis and the hotel is looking a little tired. We were without a functioning toilet, water and only had partial electricity during our most recent visit. Staff did not offer any gesture to make up for these deficiencies. As there are a number of better quality hotels in the local vicinity we will most likely stay elsewhere on our next trip to Phuket.

Awesome Resort

Beautiful beach, fantastic landscape and amazing huge pool.
It was an awesome stay at Thavorn Beach Village Resort & Spa Phuket. The kids enjoyed their play at pool and beach. The food served were sumptuous. We had a great time there.

Good start to the trip

Room, relaxation and breakfast
This was our first stop on our 2.5 week long Thailand vacation. The hotel grounds were beautiful and the huge pool was incredible. Cant really swim in the ocean because of the coral but wasn't too sad about it. Our room was great, 1 bedroom beach villa, direct access to the sand. Food was also amazing, especially breakfast. Negative aspect is that the hotel was REALLY expensive once you were there, after traveling the rest of Thailand nothing compared to the prices. Dont go to the spa, western prices and note worth it. Head into Patong instead. The beer was the most expensive on the entire trip as well. After our travels we decided we wouldn't stay here again based on how expensive everything was but with that said the hotel was really great.

Enchanting garden

surroundings, relaxed and friendly staff, hidden away
The pictures of Thavorn Beach Village and Spa don't do this place justice! It happens rarely to stay in a nicer place than one expects. The whole "village" is swimming in well- tended greenery, staff seem to love working there and they are relaxed and very friendly and helpful. Even the fact that our room got flooded (twice) didn't spoil our stay and I will happilly (and hopefully) return again!

Mixed feelings

Large pool, dining on the beach and a nice garden.
The beautiful garden and the experience of dining on the beach are hard to beat. The large pool is also very nice (though not very deep) and most of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. If you're staying for a few days I highly recommend the resort simply for its unique features and experience. For those staying a longer period: a big problem with the resort is its poor upkeep. One of the "funiculars" broke down during our stay and wasn't fixed during our 10 remaining days (we stayed a total of 3 weeks.) The other funicular was frequently worked on as well (welding, etc.) Our shower would consistently flood into the bathroom area (where there is another drain, fortunately) and when it rains the platform to reach the funicular would flood as well. The room safe also didn't work on arrival and required two different people to come and fix it. I recommend choosing a beachfront or poolside room as the funiculars going up to the hillside rooms get quite annoying after a while. Despite there being an access road going up the hill, and there being several vehicles capable of using this access road, most of the staff ends up using the funiculars themselves. It's very annoying to be told to wait even longer (the thing is already quite slow) because staff has loaded it with laundry or uses it to transport a sofa. (Yes, they will really load a sofa on top of the funicular.) Every night 4 to 5 busses of tourists will arrive, only to leave right after breakfast. Each time our new neighbour would try to open the middle door between our two rooms to see what's behind it, often waking us up when we were already sleeping. They also call each other on their rooms phones both at night and again in the morning. The loud sound of the phone and the thin wall between the rooms guarantee that you sleep late and wake up early.

Mixed experience at Thavorn Beach Resort and Spa.

The pool, the animals and the beach beds
My fiance and I had a very mixed experience at Thavorn Beach Resort and Spa. Unfortunately for Thavorn we had just come from an incredible 5 star resort so we were expecting the same standards since Thavorn advertises itself as 5 star. We stayed in a hillside room with ocean views and were very disappointed. The room felt run down and old, it smelt musty, the cushions smelt like urine and the ocean view was barely a peek. One of the two cable cars was broken and the buttons to call it on our floor worked intermittently. It was a long wait every time we wanted to reach the ground floor. I would not recommend there rooms unless you have kids who might enjoy the novelty of the cable car. The staff were great about a room change and within an hour of talking to them we were moved to a "Pool Exit" room. Although this room also had similar problems (smelly, shower didn't have a door, felt old and run down) we really enjoyed it. It was in a private part of the pool and we loved being able to get in the pool from our balcony. Other disappointments with our stay, all three restaurants/bars at the hotel were massively overpriced, 3 to 4 times what we paid anywhere else. The hotel shuttle runs at totally inconvenient times. if we wanted to go to Patong for dinner we would need to take the 3.30 shuttle there and a returning one wasn't until 9.50. (Taxis to and from Patong were flat 400 baht price). The staff were lovely but had poor English, once we were passed around 4 people at reception until someone could answer our question. Things we enjoyed about our stay, the pool is amazing, enormous with coll little waterfalls. The gardens are very lovely and we enjoyed walking through them after breakfast. The breakfast buffet was awesome, lot's of different kinds of food western and eastern. The animals all over the resort were my favorite part, bunnies and frogs, doves and roosters. In summary we enjoyed our stay once we had changed rooms but would not return to Thavorn.
