A Poolside Oasis in the City
Cabanas and Outdoor Bar Restaurant
This hotel is perfect as a place to unwind and dive into the pool to cool down after a hot day in Phnom Penh. It is also private enough and quiet enough to just spend half a day sitting around reading and chatting in the shade of the small cabanas if that's what you feel like doing.
One warning for swimmers is that the hotel gets to watch you as the pool is very much a focal point, but the nice thing during our stay is that although the pool is small the small size of the hotel meant it was never busy.
Make sure you know where the hotel is because not all of the tuktuk drivers can find it.

252 Hotel is Paradise in the city
Breakfast and message besides swimming pool
We have early check in and late check out by request. The staff are nice. Nice hotel with very nice oil message just beside the pool. Although it's not a luxury hotel. But, it's pretty enough to have a relaxing in Phom Phen in this reasonable price.

Nice hotel with great service
Handy location. Nice pool area.
For the price, this is a good hotel. Large rooms, although a little stark. Excellent breakfast and restaurant/ bar with cheap prices. The staff were very polite and helpful.

wonderful decor, great pool/bar area and free wifi
I really enjoyed my stay at the 252 Hotel. I especially liked the decor and colours. The pool area with bar/restaurant was great. I also appreciated the free wifi in all places in the hotel. My only suggestion would be to give free coffee/tea sachets and a kettle for that waking up cup of coffee.
The breakfasts were also delicious and satisfactory.
Thanks so much.

a quiet spot after noisy PP
arrived back early hours of morning, but could not get in, as security guys asleep!
however, managment were most apologetic and offered lunch as compensation.
Do not go out at night with wallet/credit cards or large denomination notes.

Nicer, quieter side of Phnom Penh
Quiet location in upscale part of town, lovely pool courtyard
We stayed at the 252 for only 1 night on our way out of town after spending another few nights closer to the Sisowath Quay area. The 252's location, in a relatively more upscale, quieter part of town, offered a nice change from the touristy swirl that envelops you by the riverside (though this is all within easy reach as well if that's what you're after). The hotel itself is a lovely little refuge from the dusty streets of PP, and as all the reviews say, the pool courtyard is lovely and intimate. However, given the cozy layout, you feel a bit on stage when you're in the pool as this is obviously the centrepiece of the hotel. Still, it's a lovely place to spend some time. Breakfasts were simple but fine, with little choice, but enough to get you by. Staff a little hectic at breakfast, but they try. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfy and bathrooms quite large. All in all, a great place to stay in a nice part of town.
Nearby (on 278) are some lovely, more expat-ish (than touristy) restaurants worth a look.
