the accommodation, the location, the staff
Perfect stay at the Andaman. It is far away from everything, but with a beautiful beach. The staff is very professional.

Spectacular beach

The general cleaninless of the place and the room, the beach, and the hospitable Malaysian staff
Our room was in the unrenovated South Wing and the room, despite its obvious age, was very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The lifts though smelled musty and not up to the standard of the other parts of the hotel. Unfortunately I did not notice the warning sign on the folding door and when I opend the door to enjoy some jungle air, within a very short time two rather large monkeys had gotten in and eaten fruit in the fruit bowl and helped themselves to the snacks in the cabinet. Perhaps the warning sign could be made more attention-grabbing! The Jala Restaurant by the sea was absolutely charming and it was a rare treat to be served by all-Malaysian staff who made us feel truly welcome and tried to keep us dry and comfortable despite the lashing rain!

romantic getaway, lovely staycation

beach, privacy, nature surroundings
comfortable, private & exclusive. stay here if u want peace & quiet, as it's far away from the hustle bustle of town. recommend to rent a car, as driving in to the resort & heading out of it would cost almost the same rate. we stayed in most of the time as it was too far to drive out & ate at the resort as we were too comfortable. food itself isn't anything to shout about at the resort, I've only tried the food at the Japanese Restaurant & Tepian Laut & had room service for breakfast, rather overpriced for simple food but I guess that's what u get for staying at some place so secluded & exclusive & probably why we were the only 'local' couple around at that time. that said, I love The Andaman & would return some time in the future.

Good location with family but food disappointing

Child friendly, great location in the jungle, nice beach
Got there 2 days before langkawi reached very unhealthy haze/pollution levels due to Indonesian Forrest fires and it took days for the management to inform the guests. In a letter they said air quality was 'poor' mention of the 'very unhealthy' levels at the time and pointing out that it would be very bad to be outside for pregnant women, children or anyone with respiratory issues. We live in Singapore so we knew what we're dealing with and stayed indoors but there were clueless tourists hanging it by the pool and outdoor restaurants. The food was less than impressive as well. Its family friendly due to location and kids club but I doubt we will go back there.
