Lovely time but service needs tweaking
We stayed for a week, really lovely feel to the place, great for kids, breakfast excellent, Jala restaurant excellent but other food outlets standard of food a bit poor, staff are very friendly mainly but maybe need more training on service side, the beach waiters were fantastic. All in all though a very relaxing place, remote but we liked that

Very overpriced
The beach and pool are lovely, but we didn't think the Andaman gives the same value for money as some of the other 'luxury' properties on Langkawi do.

Good luxury resort but the reservation service can
It was a mixed feeling about the services. First of all, I called the hotel and it was connected to central reservation, they could not found my reservation and I was told I had to call in-house reservation by dialing the same number. The in house reservation managed to trace my booking 3 out of 4 rooms. Eventually they found all my booking and told me 1 room was booked under my name but diverted last name. I requested the staff to send me a confirmation email and she did it promptly. It was strange that one day before the check in date, I was unable to print the voucher and the message said due to my booking status. I suspected there might be problem again and I called hotel again. The above incident happened and the call routed to central reservation again. I called again asked for in-house reservation and they staff told me due to public holiday, all staff were on leave and nobody can track my booking despite I cried for help. I was freaking out there was no back up person to access the reservation system and the staff asked me to call back tomorrow ( which was the check in day). I was unhappy for this type of service because we booked 4 rooms and worrying that we could not find room outside if the hotel fully booked. Immediately I requested to speak with manager. Barry was the Duty Manager and I told her the problem. He fixed it and assure to me that everything was in order and no worry about the voucher. He was on duty that day and once I checked it, he attended to me right away. He also offered to assist me to buy us the ferry ticket and rushed to hotel passed the tickets to us. I would like to say the hotel upgrade our rooms and my family was very happy about the arrangement. We had a wonderful despite the hiccups with the reservation. Personally, I think the reservation can be improved better because it has created confusion to guest just to check the reservation status. As a guest, we need to call several time just to confirm the status.

Mixed feelings
Location and view from the beach, delicious seafood at the Jala restaurant, cocktails on the beach
The best thing by far about this hotel is its location. The beach and its surrounding are stunning, and absolutely not crowded. The breakfast, which seems amazing the first day, was OK. No great bread, very fat croissants, barely OK pancakes and waffles. Lots of choices otherwise, but with a focus on quantity rather than quality. Lots of unripe fruit (pineapple, honeydew melon). The worse was the room. There is nothing "deluxe" about the deluxe rain forest room! The one we had, in the souther wing, was VERY dark, and had a terrible sewage smell coming from the (large and pretty, but aging) bathroom. The hotel reacted very fast every morning, and sent an "engineer" immediately, who fixed the problem momentarily only, as it would gradually come back during the day, to become VERY strong, like bad public toilets, every morning. To be fair, we got what felt like an acceptable compensation at the end, from a very professional manager who was full of empathy, but what I find unacceptable is that even though it is, as we learnt, a recurring problem, the owners obviously have not deemed it important enough to invest in the necessary plumbing work to repair it! The other thing that I disliked about this hotel was the breakfast after 8-8.30AM. Loud Christmasy elevator music in a beautiful rainforest setting, no thank you. The music is so loud that people end up speaking loud and the whole place is like a busy marketplace. Did not seem to bother most people, but it's really not my cup of tea. Otherwise, the bar next to the Jala restaurant and the Jala restaurant itself are really nice, and the service on the beach is great.

WE will be back!
Location, location, location
All in all all, it was great! We had a great time with our two little ones. The beach is great and the SPA is an absolute experience that every guest has to try. We will definitely come back!

Noiseless Enviroment
Friendly staff / Quietness / Room
Was a bit out of the way but that's make it more special. Quiet with no noise environment (its great rather than hearing vehicle noise every moment). We even feed the monkeys with fruits at the balcony.. first time experience for my family and myself.. except that we are waiting for the squirrel to come by during our last moment before we check out.
