Valueable Staying
Beautiful beach, friendly staff. We booked a dorm and it was very interesting when waking up with the sun and the beach right in front of you. Lots of mosquitoes and also chameleons (lol) Shared bath room is not clean enough, water purity is a bit under-expectation. The resort only serves breakfast (5-minutes walk to a nearby restaurant if you want a good dinner).

Quiet & Nature
It's a good choice for whom enjoy the peace of nature. The reception girl is nice and helpful. There are some gecko sometimes appearing in the room for a long time. We see a snake outside near the room. The resort should pay attention to this problem. It's a potentially hazardous problem.

Peaceful resort
It's a nice place to stay in Kohrong samloem although The Beach Island Resort is quite far from fast ferry's pier (it takes about 30 to 40 minutes to walk). Clean and there has a lot of space to relax. I stayed 1 night in small bungalow however still had no choice and must used hotel's public toilet. It's ok. By the way, if I knew small bungalow have no private wc and bath room, I would choose dorm with the sea view. After walking on the beach, I see here is the only resort have that kind of dorm. What a pity they dont have lunch or dinner in rain season.

Basic
All accommodation on the islands is basic and more expensive , but this takes the cake. Showers and toilets are a shared affair (one shower room with multiple heads) and the water is brown. Floors are filthy. Breakfast is available at a price and is mediocre. No other food is served throughout the day so you have to eat elsewhere. Staff are rude and treat you like an inconvenience (although some of the women are nice to you). No atmosphere. Power cuts (not their fault, understandably) but dodgy WiFi when power is on. No tours available at the desk: you are expected to amuse yourself and organise any trips without their assistance. Therefore, if you're looking to lie on the beach and do nothing for a few days then this place is perfect. But if you get noted easily then this is not the place for you

good location, bad food
First of all, the reception is hard to find - a small desk at the back of the large, circular dining area. The Russian receptionist wasn't blatantly rude, but she is soft spoken and can snap at you unexpectedly. We are two 19 year old girls and we stayed in the open air dorms. We found out that you can easily share the double bed and that we could have split the extravagant 15$/night fee. The beds are actually meant to be shared as we found two towels provided per bed. The food at this place was sub par. Expensive and unexciting. The portion size of the muesli and fruit was good but still pricy. We found ourselves going everywhere but here for our meals. The lockers in the dorms are tiny, only fitting your purse. Ours were conveniently located on top of two ants nests. The bathrooms rarely had toilet paper but a roll is provided on your bed. The showers are all located behind a dingy curtain in the main bathroom and have no individual curtains between stalls. The best thing about this place was its location and the beach. It was by far the cleanest part of Saracen bay, and close to both piers.

Rudest Frontdesk I've Encountered
The Russian foreign national working the front desk was the most disagreeable person at a hotel I've encountered in 3 months. She rudely answered my questions with half sneers and was incredibly uninviting. She put off a "we're better than you" vibe the entire time. This isn't an exaggeration. If I were the management there, I'd talk to her to tell her to be less abrasive. The location is perfect but this terrible staff choice for the face of your organization ruins the entire place. Koh Rong Sanoleum is a beautiful place but many of the people who work there have an exaggerated sense of superiority, that's not how it works in the hospitality industry. Look for other accommodation if you can find it... there aren't many options here.
