No double beds, dirty carpets and unclean room

Parking, Business center, Luggage storage
We arrived in the hotel, excpecting a 4 star hotel. however, once we left the elevator we were greeted by a very distinctive and disgusting smell on the third floor. We openend the room and found large black stains on the carpet, the room smelled as if it hadnt been cleaned in the past year and people had been smoking in it. The sheer curtains had serious stains on them and there was dust everywhere. We booked a double a bed and instead got a two twinbeds pushed together with two seperate bedding sets. We called reception to replace to ask if there was another room available and only after speaking to the hotel manager we got switched to another room. the second one was cleaner but was also lacking the double bed. We sent out the same request about the double bed again, and were assured to get a double mattress. this never happened and so we slept on one very comfortable mattress and one very soft and obviuosly very used mattress. If you're travelling with a budget you can find a better place in the city bowl. I would not recomend this place.

General comments

Hotel staff at the reception was friendly, the hotel needs to higher younger and energetic staff at their dinning area, the hotel is situated at a good strategic point
My stay at the hotel was good, except for the room that had torn curtains and a dirty carpet, food prepared by the hotel was really unbecoming as they reuse their oil making food to have be very dark and not inviting. The older staff at the dining area are unfriendly

Dissappoiting stay.

Location, parking
The shower was one powerful stream which almost made it impossible to have a good shower. This hotel doesn't cater for any other cultures besides muslim. It makes me feel sick to think I have paid R135 for a muffin because all the other food is unpalatable. There were flies everywhere, no seats when I walked and dirty tables everywhere. The pillow was rock hard and even after asking for another pillow I never received it. The remote control was not working which I reported yet to receive a replacement. The first night I couldn't sleep because of the smell of cigarette smoke all night and also found a packet of cigarettes in the room which was suppose to be cleaned before my arrival. There are so many better hotels to stay at and I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family.

It's was an amazing revitalizing experience for us, just what the doctor ordered after a long year of working.
