Reasonably priced accomodation at a great location

Price, Breakfast, Location.
Stay was ok apart from a couple of minor issues. I had booked two nights separately and at different prices, the second night being a double room so more expensive. However, when I returned back to hotel on second evening I was advised that I was staying in the same room but there had been no reduction in price. I spoke to girl at reception who said she would ring Manager to ask about it. I had to chase this, but it was eventually sorted, and the Manager agreed that I should have the second night at the same price as the first. Only other thing I wasn't keen on was the room didn't have a window I could see out of. There was a shaft in the ceiling and way up high a window which let in light. I got used to this, but would have preferred to have been advised about this on booking. Checked website and all rooms looked really bright, but this room wasn't and no photos showing this room at all (room was 212).

Central location - nice staff - simple rooms

Location. Powerful and hot showers. Friendly staff
Dublin is an expensive city to stay in during the summer. Charles Stewart guesthouse is centrally located. My room which was a single was small - double bed. Bed comfortable. Spent 3 nights there. The bathroom was very small but the shower was hot and powerful. Helpful staff. I would stay there again.

Very poor quality

Location, location, breakfast
This was a very disappointing stay. The hotel has a great location, but the service is NOT good. We requested an early check in, but were rudely told to check in at 2:30pm, which seems late even for a regular check in time. The room was very stuffy and didn't smell great, there was no fan and the windows didn't open. It was also DIRTY- the towels had some stains and the toilet was gross and not cleaned (I won't get too descriptive here). The included breakfast was good, not anything amazing but definitely solid and well made. Try to book somewhere else if possible- this place has a good location, but not much else.

Go for the location not the comfort.

The location is great. The staff is helpful.
Our stay at The Charles Stewart Guesthouse is a bit mixed. I should say that everything else is good except that the room was very cold and damp. It was very drafty as well. I had to put on my fleece hoody outside my pajamas to protect my head from the draft. I think the room temperature is under 15 degrees at most and it was lower than that during the night. So if you want to have a shower in the morning, you need a lot of courage because it was very cold to get in and out of the shower. And the bathroom is very small. I think the one in our room is no more than 2 feet wide. Anyway, if you expect the normal hotel comfort you will be disappointed. But it is at a good location and the staff are helpful. So maybe if you go during the summer it will be better.
