Saturday night stay in March
friendly staff, great location, car parking in central Dublin
Excellent location, just off the end of O'Connell St. Easy walk to Temple Bar and the central area. Convenient parking at evenings/ weekends at the rear of the Hotel in a school yard, accessed through a rear door of the Hotel. Our room was right at the back of the property, in an extension and was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable. The only minor issue was the noisy plumbing. We enjoyed lunch watching the rugby, and in the evening on the walk back we caught some live music in the Parnell Heritage Bar and Grill just down the road.

Good location
Good location, easy access, quiet
The room wasn't the most comfortable, and the pillows provided were the thinnest I have ever seen. The toilets were simple but clean, but the shower door was broken, and the ventilation in the room wasn't the best. Also, as there are no lifts, we had to walk 4 storeys up to our room with baggage. Lighting in the room and also most of the facility was rather dim.

Location, staff, discount of carpark
I gave a rating of 1 for food but we didnt have the breakfast so really it is n/a but there is no option for this. The guesthouse was easy to find and location was perfect. The room was spacious but extremely dated and there was lost of rust in the bathrooms. A lot of shelves were not sitting up straight making it impossible to put anything on them. It sounded like the people on the floor above were going to come through the floor and join us. The carpark right outside our window woke us in the morning. I think if the rooms etc were modernised i could easily increase the scores given.

Reasonably priced accomodation at a great location
Price, Breakfast, Location.
Stay was ok apart from a couple of minor issues. I had booked two nights separately and at different prices, the second night being a double room so more expensive. However, when I returned back to hotel on second evening I was advised that I was staying in the same room but there had been no reduction in price. I spoke to girl at reception who said she would ring Manager to ask about it. I had to chase this, but it was eventually sorted, and the Manager agreed that I should have the second night at the same price as the first. Only other thing I wasn't keen on was the room didn't have a window I could see out of. There was a shaft in the ceiling and way up high a window which let in light. I got used to this, but would have preferred to have been advised about this on booking. Checked website and all rooms looked really bright, but this room wasn't and no photos showing this room at all (room was 212).

Central location - nice staff - simple rooms
Location. Powerful and hot showers. Friendly staff
Dublin is an expensive city to stay in during the summer. Charles Stewart guesthouse is centrally located. My room which was a single was small - double bed. Bed comfortable. Spent 3 nights there. The bathroom was very small but the shower was hot and powerful. Helpful staff. I would stay there again.
