Very best exotic marigold hotel in Auckland
Basically the building itself is renovated relatively recently for give false impression of heritage building which is not the case. It's running by Chinese people and all photos provided are photoshopped much, furnished parts are made of cheap antique stuffs from various places. Parking bay is quite narrow but it works. Location is about 10m driving distance from CBD so ain't too bad as well. Overall, if you expected some nice nights from a heritage place, you should steer clear from hear. They don't even provide basic hotel/motel sanitary kits. e.g) cheap shampoo and shower gel coming from dispenser attached on the wall

Excellent Hidden Gem

Comfort, Location, Presentation
Excellent stay at this hotel, and certainly a hotel I will use on return visits to NZ. Staff were friendly, the room excellent and general presentation was superb. It would be good if they could provide breakfast options.

nice hotel with potential charm

location, charm
Nice place in good location, but in need of serious upgrade of amenities. Beds were acceptable, but more attention to cleanliness in rooms and bathrooms is needed. Rooms need more power points and consider noise proofing the rooms. Staff was rarely to be seen. May one day they will serve breakfast.

Old and cold

larger room was great, quiet location, helpful staff
First room we had for 1st night was very small, with the bathroom barely a cupboard!. Next night we paid extra and upgraded to a large room which was nice but cold. Lovely lounge with open fire. Helpful manager was happy to upgrade us. The room was cold, but with the heater on all night it was ok. Bathroom floor was tiled and freezing. The Agoda photos don't reflect the small room size.

Good Value for Money

Comfortable Bed, Spacious Room, Ample Parking
Overall stay was good. The bed was very comfortable and good water pressure in the shower was good as well. Only critsism I had was due to the room being so large, it was very hard to heat it (we were there at the beginning of winter during a rather nasty storm) with only one oil column heater. Also great if you're a local so to speak but if you're visiting Auckland for the first time, the location may not be the best for you unless you have a car. We found it fine but then we lived in Auckland before moving to Australia so familiar with area.
