Overnight at the George Hotel edinburgh

Service: Convenience : Comfort
Unfortunately we had a rather early wake-up call - the fire alarm went off at around 1am - so all out on the pavement - fortunately it was dry! The evacuation seemed to be well organised. No fire and no further explanation - back to bed after about an hour or so. We were very disappointed in the buffet breakfast. Although we arrived around 9.30am there was very little hot food available at that time. The cold table was fine but what little hot food that was available, sausage and bacon, was at best lukewarm. Too few staff available so long waits for tea/coffee - which again was lukewarm!!

Staff, entrance,?
The parking was appalling, the noise from the courtyard outside our window went on till 2.30 am each day, the bar was closed during our stay and there was a fire scare at 7.30 am on the Sunday morning so everyone had to congregate in the street.

View, central location, friendly staff
Way overpriced but the view from the room of the Furth River was awesome. Staff is friendly and helpful.
