my thoughts

staffs are friendly.
We stayed there for 5 nights, thought it is a hotel but turned out to be bed and breakfast. the first two nights was at the basement, but the room is rather noisy, every footstep in the hotel travels down to us. And the toilet bowl lids is broken, shower not working properly, and the doors are without internal latch. So we asked to change to the upper floor, its better but super small, and the room is rather cold, heater comes on only after midnight and not warm enough. The only good thing I can say is, the staffs are nice, we asked for a change, they did change the room and explained that the basement room is the bigger room. Breakfast is provided, only breads, cereal and egg With various drinks. if rating it as a bed and breakfast, its ok Standard. But I don't think it's worth the price we paid.

u get what u payed for

location, breakfast, funny
We used the room just to sleep; london is to interesting to stay indoors. Oure room had a small bed, to small for couple, the toilet and shower room were so close u could shower and pee at the same time, but overall u get what u payed for... Breakfast was amaizing. If just to sleep overnight its ok, dont expect too mutch so u wont be disapointed.

the bugs in the bed gave me a nightmare

location, location, location
I have got a room where the bed was something like 60cm wide. hardly fit in it. there is no TV (there was a TV, slightly smaller screen than my laptop), but there was no remote controller, even after asking fro it 5 times, so, no TV. There was only COLD water. I could not take shower - AT ALL. There was a telephone set, but no wire/connection, so, no telephone at all. And worse, on day two, some bed bug ate me so badly, I have at least 50 painful and itchy bite marks that are now even oozing and I complained so bitterly, as many diseases do transmit through bed bugs. They gave me another room when I asked for a full refund. the other room was better, I admit. Still - something needs t be done seriously, this is not a good standard hotel, even, not a place ready for human beings to live in it!!!

Tiny unsafe rooms. Shower flooded broken locks

Would not go back to it or recommend it. Don't know how it passes safety checks.

A pleasant stay in the centre of London

Location, friendly staff
We spent 5 days at the Grapevine upon recommendation from friends. Knowing them be a bit choosy, we expected more but overall it was not an unpleasant stay. The best thing about the Grapevine is, of course, the location - close to Victoria Station and Victoria Bus Station. The location was just right for us because we had to leave early in the morning. The first thing that may be counted as an unpleasant surprise was the room size - it was an indeed too small triple room without much space and it was difficult to even find some room for the suitcases. The room was clean, though, and the heating was on, which to me was really important. The bathroom was really small, just like the room itself and I suppose it will be difficult for a bigger person to take a normal shower. The beds were really comfortable, which was also good. There was also the opportunity to make tea or coffee in the room. I must admit that I don't feel entirely disappointed although some things could have been better but since we only went back to the hotel to spend the night, I don't mind some of the disadvantages.

Really not good value

Location, only!
Let's face it, hotels in London are not great value, but this was really not what I expected for. When I got there, the room wasn't ready, although I had been told it would be. I stayed in a small (tiny) single room and for some reason the radiator was on during the night and it was massive and scalding hot and the room was really small and it was not possible to turn the heat down or open the window. There were some suspicious looking electric wires on the sill and the TV did not work. The carpet didn't feel clean at all, I put down a white plastic bag on the floor and when I lifted it up, it was full of dark short hairs, I can only hope that someone hade trimmed their beard and not something else... Breakfast was OK, and the location is good and close to Victoria stn. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.

modest rooms

Terrible shower, either burning hot or cold. The condition of the room was much worst then shown on Agoda web Site.
