Feel Ripped Off

Location, Location, Location
Enjoyed our stay but the really small rooms and even tinier bathrooms made it unpleasant. Our floor was constantly wet from leaks. Every step would produce a squishing sound and water seeping through the tiles. Toilet cover kept coming off. Light was not sufficient to see much inside the cramped toilet. The views are breath taking though- that's about it. For what we paid, was expecting a lot more.

Really Small Rooms

Location, location, location
Enjoyed staying here but at the prices we were paying were expecting a lot more from our rooms in terms of size or at least amenities. What was especially lacking in function were the tiny bathrooms which leaked and where the floor was constantly wet.

Cozy hotel on ski slope

Location, Onsen, ski hill
We had a great time and this was our 5th trip to the Green Leaf. We are trying to get back for one more week at the end of ski season because the hotel's location is perfect for ski in/ski out. The powder in Niseko is amazing and after skiing all day it is nice to come back to the hotel for an after ski cocktail and soak in the hot springs. The breakfast in the morning is also excellent and you don't leave hungry!

Winter Wonderland

Snowy land, Great ski and good breakfast spread
The room has the snowy view and the room space was abit tight after opening up a luggage. Toilet was considering it small for a 4 star rated hotel. Onsen was really awesome and it totally relax your whole body after a day of skiing. The breakfast provided quite a number of variety, but it was ended quite early at 10am. And that's the only restaurant in the hotel, if you like to try other restaurant got to take their free shuttle bus ride to downtown approx 10 to 15mins ride. Overall, nice stay to sleep in and great skiing place to dive in too...

Cheapskate, not a 4-star hotel

1. Front desk staff 2. ski-in ski-out
Very disappointed with the rooms. For the price, we expected bigger and better laid out rooms for a 4-star hotel. Closets are so small. The bathrooms are small and are really cheapskate, with raised floors (have to step up almost 1 ft that I come across only at budget hotels, pity my 76 year old mum), low quality sanitary fittings especially the taps, not only that they are not the mixer type, they are with plastic handles (not even chrome plated). Did not use the bath tub or shower as they do not look appealing at all, went straight to the onsen. I think the rooms are designed with scant regards to guests’ comfort. Eg for small space the bathroom door could have been the pocket siding type, and certainly guests do not have to climb up to the bathroom. At the restaurant, we ordered among others japanese beef curry with rice and there is only 1 piece of beef in it measuring half-inch by half-inch by half inch. Breakfast is not fit for a 4-star hotel. We paid a quarter of the price of Green Leaf's to stay at other hotels in Sapporo including Ibis Style (3-star) and the standard is miles ahead with complete satisfaction. Breakfast is far superior and btw with coffee bean machineS. Overall my take of the hotel is it is cheapskate with token area made nice to be called a 4-star hotel, such as the lounge. It is good for skiing buffs with extra cash and don’t mind the standards of provisions that match. Front desk staff are excellent. So a rare case of poor hardware good software.

My view on niseko green leaf hotel

Food taste and variety, breakfast hall scenery view, cosy lounge
My stay was comfortable and the room size is reasonable with nice yukata and sofa. The dream bed is fantastic for deep sleep. The 2 flaws are: 1. Limited lifts. Only one is available. 2. Spa onsen can be further improved. A. Face cleansing, toning and milk lotions should be made available. B. Outdoor onsen should tally with the one shown on website. I was disappointed with the fence surrounding outdoor onsen which blocked my view to see the surroundings. It turned out different from what I had seen from website photos at the point of booking. As compared to the scenery view from Hilton outdoor onsen, it was exactly the same from the website. C. Doors on the way to outdoor onsen should be labeled push or pull respectively. D. Shelves for placing our belongings and clothes can be labeled with numbers for ease of locating our belongings. E. Slippers can be made with better material or synthetic leather and antiseptic spray can be placed close to shoe rack in case wrong shoes were taken. Another option is to provide room number clips for individual slippers. F. Flooring at the basin and hair drying area should be smooth wooden flooring all the way. The rough stone will disrupt the feel. These will enhance the strong points to the onsen in green leaf hotel to make spa experience more relaxing. All these are observed from various traditional onsen locations. Tranquility in green leaf hotel onsen is good.
