Good to recommend
House-styled room in sizable beds. Bathroom is clean and equipped. Just the TV set is relatively small and traditional.

Nice and Cosy Hutong
The hotel is converted from old houses in a Hutong area. The room was cosy and there is a courtyard outside. The room is clean. The staffs are very helpful. But a bit overprice. It is rather difficult to find the hotel and taxi driver will not drive inside the Hutong area as it is very narrow. The path from the main road to the hotel entrance is not flat, a lot of pot holes. Difficult to push the big luggage and will be worse after the rain.

Great location but not suitable for us sadly
The location is great. The courtyard looks nice. Staff speak good English.
Pretty expensive booking but optimistic and excited. We arrived and liked the location and building. We were alarmed to be told we could have breakfast in the reception room whilst two cats ran around the work surfaces, by coffee machine and with litter tray next to the eating table. We love cats but it was seriously off-putting. The room seemed ok but the bathroom had serious mould, the wooden floor was could do with rugs in the Winter. We really fancied dressing gowns but none supplied. Generally ok but cheap chairs, shower etc more like a nice hostel. Then the heating in our room went off around 10.30pm. Sadly around the time that the reception closed. We were not told how it worked, the instructions on the remote were in Chinese. It was bad, there was nothing we could do, no-one to call, nothing we did turned the heating back on so we had a very cold night (minus 3 in January) and didn't sleep much at all. We checked out early the next day and the girls were apologetic and helpful. The guy seemed annoyed. We are soft Westerners and need heating, spare blanket, reception for problems etc. Good location, probably nice when heating works or in Summer but we were so relieved to get to a quality 4 Star Hotel (Mercure Central) that was half the price!

Nice Hutong hotel,convenient location
1 good location, very close to metro station;2 good location, almost in the center of the ancient city;3 great living experience in Hutong.
The room is nicely decorated, simple, modern but in Chinese style. Location is very good to reach the main tourism spots. The only one problem is the shower water system is not so stable that the temperature suddenly went very hot or cold.It makes annoying since it's Beijing frozen winter. Anyway,I recommend this small courtyards hotel.

Small courtyard hotel
Unique layout, location, good staff
Great location, close to major tourist attraction, walking distance to subway. However You need some local people to find the decent food/resturant for you as the food in the hotel was average. Special and unique courtyard sitting in the traditional Beijing hutong alley. The owner has great taste in architectural re-desigin and selecting furniture and decorations(great concept), however it needs popper miantiaence and consistent services to maintain its rating. For example, the bathroom looks old and has serious water draining problem in the tube and you have be very careful not to let the water on the floor when showering; the service for the front desk staff needs to be consistent. The man who helps us checking in was the manager, his service level needs to be improved as he is leading the whole team. Other hotel staff were otherwise very good and keen to help and able to answer all the questions and requests. It was great stay overall and we love this little bioutique hotel in the traditional hutong.

Little flexibility ref customer service
-
Not good. Paid up front for 3 nights - decided not to stay there. Too cold, isolated & did not feel safe. Hotel refused to refund 2 of 3 nights. Pics misleading. reception only open 07:00 - midnight, + difficult for taxi drivers to find and not particularly safe in dark alley entrance at night. Cold rooms and must go outside to reception/ breakfast.

Superb scentuary
Tranquility, close to various attractions, character
Located in a quiet Hutong, it provides you a chance to be away from the noise of the crowd. Close approximity to various attractions and wonderful restaurants. The hotel provides you an experience that is different from those chain hotels. Everything is good with the hotel but one feedback to the hotel - time to perform some maintainence to shower (at least for the bei room where I stayed). The shower/bathtub are showing the sign of wear.
