Location over quality
First time staying at The Jayakarta. although the hotel is old and does require a bit of love it was very clean and well maintained. There wasn't a day in the 6 nights we stayed where I didn't see a cleaner, gardener or painter. The pool areas are great and the location is unbeatable. I really enjoyed being able to jump out of bed and check the surf every morning. If it was no good I could hop back into bed for a sleep in. The breakfast was good although the bacon was horrible. Shower was hot and had great pressure. Wifi was temperamental and barely worked unless outside. Staff were great. No safe in rooms and the safes behind reception could barely hold a passport. Food was average and expensive but we rarely ate there. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

Everything you need!
The grounds and gardens are beautiful and well-maintained 3 swimming pools to choose from Location in front of the beach, easy access, shops and restaurants in every direction Free shuttle bus 5 times a day to Kuta Many reviews talk about the rooms and how they are outdated and lack plug points, but they have everything you need and are simple and very clean. TV has many channels, shower is really hot and wifi works everywhere in the resort. It is popular with families but it was perfect for my needs too.

Jayakarta - upgrade needed to keep up
We booked 2 rooms at Jayakarta for last 3 nights of our Bali holiday. Rooms were affordable, and from the booking photos, the rooms looked bright & clean and we chose deluxe. Upon check-in, rooms haven't been updated, painted or repaired for many years. I found them dark, very dated, with very old fixtures and fittings (old box tv style).. This was a great hotel years back, in a great location with good facilities, and still some really lovely staff (concierge & reception) but but we cancelled our booking and found somewhere else to stay. Jayakarta, you need a facelft!

Happily Stranded at the Jayakarta
I was recently stranded for a few days when Bali's airport was closed due to a volcano in Lombok. I've always liked the Jayakarta and the location is one of the best in Legian. Close to Legian beach's restaurants but far enough away so as you don't hear the nightclub music from your room. The only drawback is the hotel is now a little tired and in need of a refit. The wifi was also a little frustrating as I had to work from my room, but overall for location and value its hard to beat this place.

Single 31 YO in Jayakarta
This place was just ok, it's old and the place seems to have given up! Room service is microwave food and the rooms are below value for money! Nice pool but the swim up was disappointing, across the road from the beach which was pretty good! More negatives than positives!
