Overpriced and old.

Location next to train station.
4.3
Very old hotel, I usually don't mind this but it shows age here. Old and moldy room. Rock hard bed and very very noisy. Curtains don't do anything, light just comes straight through. Breakfast wasn't good at all, looked like a microwaved American breakfast. Staff was helpful when we asked about bus information. That's a bonus.

Stay was good for New Year. Good location to walk to other attractions, bring a map with you, could not find one in china town. When getting out of Sub way, go to Taxi pickup point, look up and you will see Hotel, cross the taxi parking lot if you dare and walk across the bridge over canal to your hotel. One day when lost and Grand Palace was closing, we walk to the left if exiting the Palace; past all the taxis and tuktuks and got on Bus 1. Bus 1 took us across from hotel, you might want to get out sooner to avoid busy intersection, got to see a lot of china town from Bus. Question if you went back to subway and bus terminal since so close to hotel, there should be a bus to Grand Palace and other attractions, from bus terminal?

I had a good time because I met some really nice people and liked it in Chinatown. Didn't try the restaurant so I wouldn't know how it is... But I was happy with my stay there.

Classic Hotel!

Location, Decor, Staff
9.7
Had a great stay. I loved the decor, a classic hotel that made you feel like you were in a movie. My room had a beautiful painting of Ha Long Bay and an interesting balcony overlooking the city. The staff was kind and efficient. The location is perfect if you are catching trains or are interested in Chinatown.

Value and charm

Cleanliness, helpful staff, location in city
9.3
This was a real discovery of an old-style hotel that was comfortable and offers great value for money. The staff were welcoming and helpful and the room was super clean, quiet and with a good, powerful hot shower and complimentary water and coffee. The area of Chinatown behind the hotel was nice for a wander and connection to the airport and rest of the city via the MTR two minutes away brilliant. Staying somewhere like this makes you wonder what more people really want from a hotel.
