A haven in a central location

Location, the staff and the room

Had an excellent stay here. The staff were lovely and really helpful. The manager and owner went out of their way to help you even when I had to leave early before the breakfast staff had got there they made sure I had something for breakfast and helped me with what to do and where to go in Phnom Penh. Also the bed was super comfy and the room was cleaned daily very nicely.

Great value, almost fantastic

Location, bed comfort, size

A bit frustrating because this place has changed names so many times, it was hard to find. We like staying here for the location. We finally tracked it down on Agoda (used to be called Elsewhere and Aqua). Unfortunately they have no website and the number on Agoda does not work. So there was absolutley NO WAY to contact the hotel before we arrived as we needed an upgrade and had to wing it. The staff are friendly and helpful, if not a little slow. But hey, this is Cambodia. Why are you in a hurry? The food is OK. The bar tender could do with some training on how to make good cocktails. (and be less chatty with other staff when you mention you are in a hurry for a drink. Took them 5 minutes to get started). But all in all a wonderful little hotel. Nice rooms, comfortable beds. I like the fact there are only about 10 rooms. It would be great if they had the right bed configuration to split doubles into twins, but alas.... All the little things that went wrong were quite trivial. This is still one of the best value for money hotels in the area.

A Very Pleasant and Personal Hotel

Location, staff and cleanliness

My first stay at this hotel was most enjoyable, the staff had excellent English and could not do enough to help out. The room was large and airy, not fancy but had all the basics. Bathroom very clean and spacious with great rain shower. With a very small number of rooms, it felt very intimate and had great conversations with fellow travelers. Located in an area surrounded by restaurants and bar and lots of night life. There was sadly one major drawback and that was the very loud karaoke next door that went on well into the night.

very helpful staff

staff location atmosphere

I arrived too early for check in but the staff went out of their way to get my room ready early. The girl on reception in the mornings was exceptionally helpful. There were plenty of restaurants in the area and tuk tuks available for travel to other areas of Phnom Penh. My only complaint about the hotel is that the walls are a bit thin if you have noisy children in the room next door. Overall I would be happy to stay at this hotel again

expensive, noisy, swimming

swimming pool, what, else ?
5.3
it's expensive for only a nice swimming pool, the room is not so nice, there is no real garden or place where to chill out, same owner the tea house but sure not the same quality and really too much expensive. If you can find "elsewhere" to go, do not hesitate.

Had reason to stay there

close to daughter's hotel, location, eateries

It's an average hotel. Had to climb up one flight of stairs. Door to bathroom was very heavy and noisy when closing. No shower curtain or screen to separate it from wash basin etc. Some floor tiles loose and popped. Zero view as window and front sliding doors had to be close. Limited TV channels. Same continental breakfast everyday. Can be noisy at night when the music blares away till midnight. Quite a lot of nice eateries close by. Staff responsive and friendly.

A great value hotel

Location, price, beds
8.3
After booking I read the reviews and was worried, but my my concerns were unwarranted. Everyone seemed to complain the hotel was noisy and expensive. Here's a tip - if you don't like noise, don't travel to Phnom Penh. The whole city is on the move and every block has construction somewhere at all times. Horns honk, jackhammers drill, people chatter. Deal with it. For such a centrally located hotel I was worried about the noise but had a great nights sleep. I think these were the most comfy beds in Phnom Penh I have ever slept on (and I'm talking about may 50 different beds). Price wise it's spot on. You don't get many hotels with pools for under $50 a night. The layout and building is similar to many boutique guesthouses. ALl in all a great value hotel. Modern, clean, pool, location. No bells and whistles, but you don't tend to get that in this part of the world.
