Located near the National Marine Park on the unspoilt south coast of the magnificent island of Koh Lanta, this property sits close to sandy beaches, crystal clear water, and an amazing underwater world. Great resort but staff performance is uneven

Excellent food, well maintained, owner responsive to comments about staff

Food served is excellent but is priced at european standards. If you come from Europe, you will find it affordable but it is x2-x3 what restaurants normally charge in Thailand so don't be afraid to go around. Also, we found the staff performance to be uneven, some being displeasant and unprofessional (water poured on food, asked to set up the table ourselves), which was a first in many stays in Thailand. A chat with the friendly owner fixed it all but we would have preferred to avoid it.

Relaxing Stay at the Narima Resort

The private and quiet location.
9.7
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our bungalow was situated in a very private location so we had piece and quiet. After traveling around Thailand we definitely needed this. The staff was friendly and the food was fantastic. BBQ on the beach was exceptional. We really hated to go.

Family stay at The Narima

Very personal and caring, great location, lovely venue

We had a great time at The Narima. The owners were lovely and the staff were a very friendly, helpful team who were able to accommodate us well during our stay because the resort is small enough for teh staff to know and care about the personal preferences of their guests (eg. how you like your cup of tea at breakfast!). I would recommend the Narima to anyone, with or without families, who wishes to enjoy a peaceful yet luxurious stay on a Thai island.

A really fantastic bungalow hotel.

We really loved our stay at this hotel. We stayed here five nights. Wish it could have been 20. The bungalows offer a fun experience, just rustic enough, but with AC so you can get cooled off when the heat gets to be too much. The staff are friendly and helpful, though many don't speak English. The beach and pool are very good and worth spending some time at. The motor bike rentals at the hotel are reasonably priced and are a good way to get around. Provided you can handle your self on a motor bike.

Amazing find, will go back!

The bungalows on the beach, the quality and price of the food, the location

It was such a wonderful stay at the Narima, we are overjoyed with our experience! The grounds are beautiful and well kept, lush jungle forest surrounding beautiful traditional style buildings on a gorgeous beach that was the nicest one that we saw on the island. The staff was wonderful and always ready to help. The free breakfast was amazing with Thai and western options available and someone to make you a fresh omelette. We LOVED our bungalow on the beach, it was heaven. Very well kept with comfortable (but hard as is the thai standard) beds and a hammock on the porch--you feel like you are alone in the forest overlooking the ocean. Just gorgeous!!! All of the prices were very reasonable, when we got our final bill (that included transportation to the airport and three massages) we were stunned by how little we spent. The beach is gorgeous with some rock outcroppings and a sand bar that extends really far into the water once you walk past them. This made it like a big swimming pool with a sand bottom! Families could play in the water as it was not scary at all. We went scuba diving for the first time with the company that has a sattelite location in the hotel. They gave us lessons in the pool at the hotel and then picked us up from breakfast the next day and took us to Ko Haa, an island about 45 minutes away by boat that is a national park that looks like an aquarium. It is gorgeous and so close! We loved it. We even saw a whale shark, which is apparently fairly rare! We travel a lot and we really loved this place.

Amazing place!

This place is fantastic!! We booked row C and although you can't see the sea it is only 1min walk down to the private little beach, with stunning views. The room was clean and very comfortable, good beds, good pillows, large balcony with hammock.. heaven! The restaurant is brilliant! Every meal we had was well above average, the cocktails were yummy and the staff are great. The location is quiet but you can hire a scooter and explore the island with ease. Absolutely nothing negative to say about this place... we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again, in a heartbeat!

Beautiful setting, great food, on the ocean

Oceanview bungalow, food, staff
8.3
I initially picked a Row C bungalow but it had no view of the ocean (despite it stating it had a "sea view" so I assumed that meant it was staggered behind the other bungalows and you could see between them to the ocean). So, since it was my birthday, I decided to take the plunge and upgrade to the oceanfront bungalow and I did not regret it! BREATHTAKING and worth every penny! I loved laying in my hammock and reading a book while listening and watching the waves below me and through the gorgeous trees! The only downfall of the bungalow (which I do not know if it was only this particular bungalow #A-02 - or all of their bungalows) was that there was a very strong odor when you entered it which smelled like MOLD! Every day they sprayed air freshener, so they are aware. Food was excellent and so was the staff! I'd definitely return.

Perfect place to relax and eat delicious Thai food

Food, pool, bungalow

We had a wonderful stay at the Narima, but were glad to go during low season because could imagine it getting a bit crowded. But it was perfect for us, very relaxed on a private beach, so quiet and peaceful, exactly what we were looking for. The bungalow was very nice, with a balcony overlooking the beach, and a hammock to nap in! Decent size, a double bed and a single bed. You could hear the waves and falling asleep to that sound definitely makes you feel like you're on a holiday! Just make sure you close and lock the mosquito net when inside the room. The food was a real highlight, everything we had was truly delicious, really tasty Thai food. The pool was really nice as well, we spent a lot of time in it with our 2 year old. It overlooks the beach and is just the perfect temperature as pretty sunny so very enjoyable. The sea isn't really to swim in, the waves are pretty big, but the beach is really nice to walk on. We really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely recommend it. The downside for us was that it is not stroller / kid friendly at all! Stairs everywhere, and pretty steep around the pool area. We also felt like it wasn't taken care or well enough. Little things like pots of paint lying around, or the pool area not being cleaned of leaves, or the beach bar that was closed looking like it was abandoned, which if done differently would make a difference.

Remote location, private beach, nice bungalows

Bungalows, restaurant, natural beauty
6.7
My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights and were very impressed with the bungalows. We chose row C, farthest from the ocean, but still had an ocean view and could hear the waves at night. The private beach is quite small, and at high tide it completely disappears under the sea. The sea is not at all clear, and not suitable for swimming or snorkelling due to the rough surf, murkiness, and rocks. Their beach is nice to see from the restaurant terrace or poolside, but otherwise very small and non-existent at high tide. Our visit was in August, during the low season. Perhaps for this reason the resort appeared neglected and abandoned. There were few other guests staying here during our visit and overall the impression we had was of neglect and abandonment. The scuba diving center was closed, the deck chairs and tables for the beach were never out, the pool lights never lit at night, and dive center and the spa on the beach were also closed. The Narima is located quite far from everywhere so it is not feasible to walk to other places. The nearest ATM is about 3 km away. They do have motor scooter rental at THB 100 for 6 hours (half day) or THB 200 for all day. Otherwise, it will cost you at least THB 500 for a car or tuk tuk to go anywhere. We tried to arrange for a tuk tuk once and the driver wanted to charge us TBH 600 (more than the rate for a private air conditioned car), so apparently tuk tuks are not a good option here. The restaurant is quite good and we noticed many diners arriving from other hotels to dine at lunch and dinner. Our favorites were the pizza and the green papaya salad. The breakfast was included with our room and and we were pleased with the nice Western breakfast selection with excellent Thai coffee. The pool is very beautiful, although the whirlpool tub was not working – no lights, hot water, jets, or bubbles. The wifi is intermittent at best and the staff, while friendly and helpful, have extremely poor English skills.
